Clearly better service - which makes the point that hyperbole about the public sector is just hyperbole.

Can this crap about hyperbole.
Unskilled labor, or is it not?
As a Taxpayer I am not a support system for unrealistic wages - benefits.
The benefits were extremely generous. We both know that now don't we.
Miller paid off his union supporters for years. How did he make out when he wanted some changes.
Why they threw him overboard.
If you wish too, donate to the Union for the laid off employees.

It's not just public service people, it's hard to find anybody to do anything now. Nobody gives a ****. There's no pride in a job well done, there doesn't even seem to be any pride in ownership. sad. I hope I die soon.

that is not clear at all...less complaints...that is clear...but why, we don't know the nature of the complaints nor why they occurred neither do we know if they were justified, neither do we know if the amount spent prior was worth the cost of "less complaints"

article is slanted and narrow and basically means zero for the good or the bad

not true...many people take pride in their work, pride in a job well done, it is not hard to find lots of people who work hard and earn their pay...neither is it hard to find lazy self entitled people who do just enough to get by

pretty much like it has always been

Obviously you don't work public sector nor have a clue how it works. I do.

The accountability is zero even if you are the fuk up from hell. You just keep drawing that money in while everyone around you has to compensate for your inability to do your job because you are so protected that they can't touch you.

Do you want to understand where YOUR tax dollars are going or do you just want to b*tch about big brother...have at 'er woman...I get paid regardless.

Believe it or not, some of us public sector workers actually do the job and more than asked for...ya know, like the real world. And the rest just coast along. It's sickening. And the sense of entitlement is horrifying.

I do work in the public sector. I said it here many times before. Why do you assume I don't? Because I defend public sector unions, believe in labour rights, believe the labour movement has benefited us all, and so many of us have forgotten that? I don't see how any thing I said fits the description of someone who isn't in a public sector union.

Not everyone in the union is the same and you fit the perfect example of many people who don't appreciate what the labour movement is (to be sure some of these people are actually union reps). I know all about the abuses of some employees. So many people complain that no one does their job right, but no one admits that it's them. Usually they're the only ones that work hard and everyone else is entitled.

Your attitude, not just among union employees, is the problem. Too many people think they're employee of the century, and they're smart and hardworking, and they're entitlements are not entitlements while everyone else is greedy and lazy and entitled. This is why so many people, especially of the baby boomer generation, stripped workers and the public sector of its rights and funding. You are why schools, social assistance and mental health are underfunded, why affordable housing is hard to come by and housing prices are through the roof, why universities rely on exorbitant tuition from foreign students, why unemployment is high but companies are flying in cheap foreign labour. Because you are entitled. You want yours and everyone else be damned.

More complaints to the private collector because people know something will be done about the complaint. Why complain about gubmint workers, everyone knows nothing will change. Privatize it all.

Because of your unbalanced defense.

Because I defend public sector unions, believe in labour rights, believe the labour movement has benefited us all, and so many of us have forgotten that?
no, not because of your defense and belief but because of your knee-jerk response which is why I believe you do not work public sector...either that or you are one of the public sector workers that the rest of us public sector workers hate...always running to the union and whining because you need constant union support because you are the laziest thing God put breath into. So which one are you...enlighten me.

I don't see how any thing I said fits the description of someone who isn't in a public sector union.
correct, you don't get it...which is why you are either a whiner or not public sector.

Not everyone in the union is the same
that sentence is dead fuking on!!!

and you fit the perfect example of many people who don't appreciate what the labour movement is
wrong...I am the perfect example of many who do appreciate what the union does...and see clearly what they do not do...
(to be sure some of these people are actually union reps). I know all about the abuses of some employees.
then fukin' man up and quit defending the indefensible

Your attitude, not just among union employees, is the problem.
no my attitude is what keeps me doing contract work because I am requested over and over.

Too many people think they're employee of the century,
I don't think I am the employee of the century...I KNOW I am the employee of the century along with a whole bunch of others that work hard and do their jobs
and they're smart and hardworking, and they're entitlements are not entitlements while everyone else is greedy and lazy and entitled
BINGO... lazy slack ***, whiners who don't do their job, suck the employer dry and feel completely justified... in the real world these bottom feeders would be fired... in the world of the union these slackers justify the need for unions.

.
This is why so many people, especially of the baby boomer generation, stripped workers and the public sector of its rights and funding. you don't have a clue what you are speaking about...so once again you are either not a public sector worker or one of the protected because the word incompetence is the sole qualification on your resume...

the response from her was poor so your support is meaningless except to demonstrate you support a meaningless post

lmao...are you now a member of the unthinking picture brigade...mentalfloss I thought more highly of you than that.
