Doug Ford asks police to investigate threats
TORONTO - Councillor Doug Ford has asked Toronto Police to investigate after receiving an e-mail containing threats against his family.
There have been “serious threats” made towards his family amid the ongoing crack cocaine allegations hanging over Mayor Rob Ford and a Globe and Mail report alleging the Etobicoke North (Ward 2) councillor dealt hashish back in the 1980s, he said during an interview on CP24 Wednesday.
“(I’ve had) serious threats on my girls and sometimes you ask, is it worth it?” Ford told Stephen LeDrew. “It’s very concerning, you have four girls and my wife and you have serious, serious threats against my family almost on a daily basis.”
Ford showed the Toronto Sun an e-mail sent to him threatening his daughters.
“If anyone could read this letter in my pocket right now, they’d be floored, they’d throw-up,” he said on TV.
Mayor Rob Ford said he couldn’t say much on the incident involving his brother’s family.
“Yeah, a threat came in and the police are handling it — that’s all I can say right now,” he said.
