Does the Community Financial Services Centre run a thrift shop, spend two years training individuals from functional illiteracy to full employability, help functionally illiterate women fill out the necessary forms to aquire valid identification documents?
does it even give a rat's ass when a woman doesn't know who to phone when a woman believes one of their children might be apprehended by CFS unjustly?
I'll answer that for you.
no it doesn't.
you really think the people that run these programs have the time and inclination to gussy up web pages to convince the self-righteous they should think otherwise about the work they do when they know damn well its a pointless exercise in futility anyways?
We always called the suburban Thrift Shop our "Favourite Old Store" because I wanted my daughters to like the place. They were thrilled when we left with a paper grocery bag full of goodies (first Thursday of every month = 5$). It was run by the church in a separate faciliy (burbs) and all the goods were donated by people that didn't need the stuff anymore. You could get a nice sweater for about $2.75. SWAC had nothing to do with this. Perhaps they referred the customer to the service, but I don't see SWAC running a thrift shop - more likely sitting in $2000 suits flying around the country having dinner with beautiful men. I think we could spend the $5 million on something more societally conscientious.
