good point, I must apologize for my use of words. in most cases, I think they are humans ( ie an individual life) long before they are aborted.

again, in most cases?

I also see you haven't answered my query regarding your stance on war and the death penalty.

You'll have to forgive Gerry, Cranky, his feelings of self importance is such that he believes you should be able to remember every discussion you've had with him.

as long as I stay consistant and only share my honest opinion....or share something in jest that I'm prepared to correct myself on.....then I don't need to remember every conversation that I've had, because I'll be happy to repeat it.

I dont have a problem with your solution of everyone controlling their own affairs, except I doubt that it will do anything to positively affect our 43 abortions per 100 live births. If we want that number to go down, there will have to be some form of intervention.

Maybe the number has gone down. In what year was the rate 43 abortions per 100 live births? That's considerably higher than the latest data I could find on StatCan.

As I said before, is there some inherent reason to think it's wrong?

Haven't seen anyone suggest anything based on anything other than feelings, woah-oh-oh feelings.

And don't bother tossing out insults, gerryh, or resorting to your favorite swearwords. Just try to come up with some reasons.

He had a problem with my desire for equal rights by proudly exclaiming that "the law" makes my opinion irrelevant. He's trying to find a way to back pedal on this one. It might take him a while to respond. Hypocrisy's a bitch that way.

Notice (and I'm sure you have, but others probably can't grasp this concept) that I haven't said what my feelings are on this, just asking if there's a reason to feel the way others claim we should.

It's wrong to kill, to take another human life. Period. If you feel you can justify taking another human life then you can justify taking ANY human life for any reason. It's either right or wrong. There is no grey area here.

I have no problem justifying taking human life under various circumstances.

I don't live in a black and white world.

You believe that it is never justifiable to take a human life? Can I assume that you are one of those people who refuses to pay taxes because your taxes support our armed forces?

as far as I understand, the basic human right of Life does not have the onus to justify anything to you or anyone else.
