It’s Torchwood—an absolutely fabulous Science Fiction series, based on the Doctor Who universe.

But it’s not just Science Fiction—it’s Comedy, and Romance, and so much more. It’s the story of a covert group of operatives—Torchwood-3, a branch of the Torchwood Institute—who work to study and contain a time-space rift that goes through Cardiff. Charismatic (and sexually-charged) Captain Jack Harkness, computer genius Toshiko Sato, medical phenomenon Dr. Owen Harper, newest member PC Gwen Cooper, and the enigmatic (and delicious) Ianto Jones make up a cast with an awesome chemistry.

Its third series just ended (Torchwood: Children of Earth), but a fourth series is in the works.

Has anyone seen Torchwood? Care to share your thoughts on the series?

Produced by the British Broadcasting Corporation (series one was produced in association with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation—this series is enough of a reason for me to keep this Crown corporation around, haha!).

That was the best minute of science fiction I have seen in years, truely a masterpiece of genuine cinomatic jeaneous but it's not mere science fiction it's more its everything a flic could possibly be. Space time rift eh, if only that were possible the film would be flawless. I'll watch it though because it's free and I can drink safety beer filters all the way through.

I can't stand the acting of the guy who plays Captain Jack. He nearly ruined Dr.Who for me, so I was thrilled when they wrote him off into his own show. Phew!

Are you my Mommy? Mommy? Is that you Mommy?

I have yet to watch Torchwood, but I will try to pick it up on DVD when my funds are better. I really enjoy the new Doctor Who shows(I preferred Eccleson over Tenant as Doctor), but I have not been able to watch it since Season 2.

It looks as though there’s going to be a fourth series! :)

That is good news. There are times when it seems there are no good Sci-Fi/Fantasy shows on, but right now there seems to be a good amount of them.

The new Doctor Who is one of them(plus the special effects look a lot better than they did in the Tom Baker era. LOL!). I have a lot of the old Doctor Who stories on DVD. The restoration teams do an excellent job of cleaning them up and adding effects when needed(some of the older episodes were missing frames and more due to the fire that almost wiped everything out). I would highly recommend them, Paradox. For the most part the stories are entertaining(some of the stories are just...well, bad. LOL!).
