He'd stop golden parachutes and massive bonuses with tax payer money. It continued unabated... and it still does.

The Dodd-Frank Act (referred in the OP as new financial regulations) now allows shareholders a non-binding vote on executive compensation, including the infamous golden parachutes. Such a vote is a powerful tool in reigning in golden parachutes.

more too. 1. Keep his communist party ties out of the picture. 2. Bury the nation in debt. 3. Begin a series of anachronistic declarations using executive priviledge. 4. Surround the job with incompetents like summers, geithner, napolitano and others.

i thought we were talking about obama not junior.

Maybe the environment played a role in the President's decision, but I have a sneaking suspicion that other factors also came into play.

It is all about getting the extreme left vote because the right won't vote for him anyway. After the election expect the pipeline to be built or risk loosing Canadian oil.

The only thing he did wrong there was not telling the auto industry,to stop making cars that do not sell,or to make the damn cars energy efficient, more milage for less gas.
They are having their best years now- Sales are up quality about the same as the Japanese. If these industries were not bailed unemployment would have hit 20 %. Bush started the bailouts and Obama finished up.

Well he did one other thing right- Still pissed about not being hired.

My thoughts exactly, TS.

What about GITMO? Has he gotten around to closing that yet? Where is the outrage? Should he be brought in front of the Hague? Do US Liberals like GITMO now?

It was my understanding that Obama had he announced the closure of GITMO then immediately followed through by doing so, might have had a chance. Support for closure was just above 50% as he began his presidency.

I also understood that support in his own party started to fade as Democratic Senators began to think about the consequences of having a group of terrorists in their state.

As things stand now he has absolutely no chance of closing the facility with the Republican Congress blocking his every move and allowing only the minimum of necessary legislation through the house. It takes money to close the facility even if they had all the other particulars worked out, money that the Republicans will never support spending.

Yes, he failed to close it, but he was not alone in that failure.

It's not the 1950s anymore. Most Americans (except for a few rightist dumb people) don't accuse others of being Communists (with a capital C even) anymore.

What a lunkhead lame article. Getting a nobel prize is one of his key failures. Geez the right are effin stupid.

Now what exactly did Obama do to deserve the Nobel Prize- And I ain't a right wing lunkhead- At least the last time I checked I wasn't.

What does he have to do with the Nobel Prize committee? If they select you then getting the prize is considered one of your failures? What kind of logic is that?

Well they have made dumb ass choices in the past have they not. I asked you what did Obama do to deserve such a prize. In my opinion - Nothing but win an election with lots of high talk.
