You with the reds are a bigger threat around her, probably nation wide also.

Sure. Islam is the enemy, right?
Walter is hopefully having a Catch-22 moment before I get the red. The Bible, and thus Christian and Jew has their one true God going to some lengths to show us His definition of 'the enemy' is the grave and that the 'land of the enemy' is the grave rather than some near or far Gentile land. The Mid-East the land of the experts who get it wrong every single time. Where have I heard that before? The death of the children in the NT and the prophecy about 'lost children' in Jeremiah:31 are one and the same and the land is one and the same.

Deserving a kiss and getting one are two different things Walter. I thought you should know that.

Yep, and we know what happened in Wisconsin when some Murkan hero couldn't figure out the difference between a Muslim and a Sikh.

Man you were all excited starting this thread this weren't you?

Then some convert in your birth state had to go and screw it all up for ya!

Timing is everything T!

It was pointed out to me this afternoon that the Imam from Calgary who is trying to bring
the community together to curb radicalization among youth, was himself attacked outside
a Calgary YMCA and told to go back to where he came from. Wow he should return to
Toronto how stupid is that. These acts are unfortunate, but the fact remains there must be
a rising chorus of voices from the moderate Muslim community against the violence and the
radicalization of youth. Come to think of it more and more of the converts are not from the
Middle East and they are not Arabic take the case of the offender in Oklahoma Nolan is not
exactly an Islamic name now is it. It is the Ideology not the race of people
I know people who are of Arabic decent they are actually Christians. The whole thing is a mess
we have as a society allowed to happen for there has been silence in the non Muslim community
as well

The Muslim Community must stand up and speak up and be prepared to participate
in combating radical Islam or they will be seen as supporting the cause with silence.

You know if googled moderate Muslims you wouldn't need to say that. The internet has information on it.

Part of the problem I see with the Muslim community isn't just it's lack of support of sense, but the varied styles of Islam they follow. Like Christianity there are different 'flavors' and unfortunately even within the Muslim community it's permitted to harm these other people of faith. Right now the extreme side is winning, not only because the more moderates won't speak out but it's because they're just as afraid as others in the world, if not moreso.

Things will not change until Islam itself goes through a radical shift, which won't happen because the Islam itself prevents such shifts.

The problem with Muslim extremists is a symptom of a problem and not "The Problem". The real problem is a fear of modernity. It manifests itself in diferrent ways in different cultures and in different places.

I agree we don't need one group of people attacking another group of people who are citizens
of any nation. The problem is hatred is a powerful thing and once it takes hold humanity
takes a vacation. If the escalation of violent acts continues the law won't be able to protect
a large number of citizens. Even decent ordinary people can descend into ethnic madness
and that is not only Muslims. We have seen it throughout European history and Asian
history. Recently Africa was a hotbed of civilian mass murder. Why in the past few weeks
we saw untold violence over the death of a single person at the hands of police.
Magnify that into a military situation combined with an attack by militants who were trained
overseas and returned home this could spark violence the like we have not seen.
It leads to civil madness if that is the right word. As a society we are not yet above ethnic
cleansing and so on. We did it before with the French in Acadia, and the Japanese during
WWII. These are things we must talk about to ensure cooler heads prevail.
God knows what can happen. I remember as a kid my father pointed out If I saw kids eating
out of garbage cans in Italy during the war it can happen here in the right circumstances.
Its up to us to ensure it doesn't happen and that requires a cool head.
And yes it needs to be said that moderate Muslims need to participate in demonstrating they
are not in favor of actions carried out in their name. It is also incumbent on our legal system
to see to the protection of all our citizens be they Christians Muslims Jews, gays, and just
crabby old buggers like me. We all have a place in the national family to which we belong.

Seems that threats are also a daily occurance for any and all people on this planet when it comes to the muslim extremists. Even being one of their faith isnt' good enough

ISIS militants publicly execute human-rights lawyer near her home in Mosul
Militants with the Islamic State in Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) publicly killed a rights lawyer in the Iraqi city of Mosul after their self-styled Islamic court ruled that she had abandoned Islam, the UN mission in Iraq said Thursday.

Samira Salih al-Nuaimi was seized from her home on Sept. 17 after allegedly posting messages on Facebook that were critical of the militants’ destruction of religious sites in Mosul.

According to the United Nations Assistance Mission in Iraq, al-Nuaimi was tried in a so-called “Sharia court” for apostasy, after which she was tortured for five days before the militants sentenced her to “public execution.”

The problem is the vast number of moderate Muslims around the world have sat in silence
while their radical brothers have committed any number of crimes and not just in the Middle
East.
The soldier murdered on the street in his own country for example.

We have discussed numerous times on this forum the fact that Islamic clerical authorities condemn terrorism:

Muslim Leaders Have Roundly Denounced Islamic State, But Conservative Media Won't Tell You That | Research | Media Matters for America

quote:

The Organization Of Islamic Cooperation: The Islamic State Has "Nothing To Do With Islam," Has Committed Crimes "That Cannot Be Tolerated." As the Vatican's internal news source reported, the Secretary General for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which represents 1.4 billion Muslims in 57 countries around the world, condemned the Islamic State's persecution of of Christians and other religious minorities in Iraq, saying the "forced deportation under the threat of execution" is a "crime that cannot be tolerated."

- more -

As always, these authorities condemn it but the controlled right wing media remains silent and fails to report this truth.

Good on them.

Now I'd like to see that on the nightly news in every media outlet.

And thanks for proving that I was at least partly correct in that clergy do condemn the violence.

We've seen it posted here many times, even by right wing members like Colpy.

You'd notice if you stopped projecting so much.
