This city will be 33 times the size of NYC and run on 100% renewable energy

The crown prince of Saudi Arabia today announced plans to build a new, futuristic city in the North-West of the country that is built upon principles of renewable energy, technology, community, diversity, and modern architecture.

In the mean time they'll keep burning oil to make electricity.

Sounds like bullshit to me. People survived when global temperatures were 3C warmer 2000 years ago than today.

The petroleum guy says that the Saudis will be shovelling snow, soon.

Still have to have jobs for all those residents. So far they have built their green cities off of petrobucks.GOing to be really hard to shove those not very green electrons down a pipe and onto a ship.

I can't help but wonder where they source all of their necessities (ie foodstuffs) and how they transport it into this veritable utopia?

I'm guessing that they don't calculate that into the green equation

Half a dozen trees does not a green city make. Vancouver is a green city.

Come on Taxslave.. don't be a Jinentonix

The city is run on renewables, solar and is designed to maximize sun and shade creating cool spaces. It's amazing architecture and design.

Still needs jobs. Where do all the people work in this green city? Oilfields? And there is almost no green shown. Solar panels themselves are not exactly green.
