What we need is an Idols Know More demonstration in full costume in front of these schools! The gods will scare some sense into these Aunty Heathens!

And not just in Port Colborne! Right here in Vernon B.C. a school my grand daughter attended banned festivities because they were afraid of hurting the feelings of a certain religious denomination.

My Gawd, this infection will soon reach the Coast!

Would that denomination be the Loonie?

Actually could be a couple, there's a significant East Indian population and I believe one Christian denomination, don't want to identify specifically but think the initials J and W.

It's probably been there and is catching us on the rebound! -:)

Well it should really offend all religions as it is a pagan holiday. Having said that it hasn't offended anyone yet in a couple of hundred years so I don't think it would now. No, it is some uptight, power-hungry, brainless idiot who thinks the world should conform to their idea of what is PC behind all this bullsh*t. What is worse than cancelling the holiday is that these are the people responsible for educating our youth. That is far more scary than any halloween costume or display.

Yep, it's become a pretty harmless ritual, although back in my day kids were burning themselves with fire crackers but those have been largely outlawed and then later we had to become vigilant for sick bastards sticking razor blades in apples, but hey there are sickos present in all walks of life. It's one night a year so people's noses really shouldn't get out of joint!

Cancel Christmas, Valentines day, Easter... every holiday but Labour Day - the national holiday celebrating the day or mothers gave birth or the worker drones who make up stupid rules to take the fun out of being a kid or both.

I'm quite convinced the razor blades in apples is an urban legend. Every town had it happen, yet no one ever had it happen. Funny that.

Yep, I think you are mostly right, although I'm sure there were two or three cases of it, that's all it take to start hysteria when it comes to kids. That is a good thing.

Thanks to the realistic horror picture shows and the violent video games people have been committing atrocities against children so Halloween should go into hibernation for 100 years.

Well that made me curious so I looked it up. Apparently it's not an urban legend, while it's not necessarily razor blades but pins and needles (items inserted into treats). It's not really as widespread as legend would have us believe either.

The Snopes Scoop:

snopes.com: Pins and Needles in Halloween Candy

Poisonings are apparently pretty much B.S. though.

I really can't decide if you're the most dry sarcastic, cynical person in the world, or simply an idiot.

Seems benign when compared to the uptight, power-hungry, brainless idiot who thinks the world should conform to their idiotic interpretation of law.

What is worse than cancelling the holiday is that these are the people responsible for educating our youth. That is far more scary than any halloween costume or display.
No scarier than people who think gunning down unarmed people just doing their lawful job, having and raising kids.

From ghosties and goulies and things that go bump in the night, may the good Lord deliver us.
