Muslim group wants prayer in public school stopped

TORONTO - One of Canada’s largest Muslim groups has denounced the worshipping of their youngsters at a North York middle school claiming it has opened a Pandora’s Box of issues and must be stopped.
(No doubt sensible Muslims will be concerned about the heat generated by this “prayer in school debate” as the more public exposure the debate gets, the more it will turn ordinary Cdns against pushy Muslim radicals demanding rights that other religious groups do not have!)
The Muslim Canadian Congress joined others groups like the Canadian Hindu Advocacy and Jewish Defense League, who are calling for the Friday 12:30 p.m. service that runs from November to March to be halted or monitored to avert the spread of radicalism by Imams.
(There have been news reports of the total lack of moderate writings in Muslim schools and mahdrassas in Canada. The reports indicate that moderate Muslims are being essentially shouted down by the radicals!)
“This is a very big concern for us,” Congress president Farzana Hassan said. “We are concerned that there are some Muslim groups that are not seen as Muslims and may not be invited to pray.”
(IN other words this Muslim concern for prayer in school is not motivated by main stream religious tolerance but rather by a concern that some groups of Muslims are insulting and denigrating other groups of Muslims! We Cdns built a secular school system so we will not have to listen to Protestants and Catholics and Jews fight and now Muslims want to import their own version of religious strife! Are there not enough Sunni`s and Shi`ites being blown up in Bagdad, now they want to open a new front in Mississauga and North York?)
Hassan cited the Ismailis and Ahmadiyyas as not being recognized as Muslims by mainstream groups.
“This is opening up a Pandora’s Box,” she said on Tuesday. “Schools are not a good place for Muslims and Hindus to have hard feelings fester and taking root.”
(Thank you! One sensible comment about limiting festering hate and envy! After all, why should other religions not be jealous of privileges being granted to pushy loud mouth Muslims?)
The concerns follows reports by the Toronto Sun that up to 400 Muslim students are allowed to have prayer services in the cafeteria at Valley Park Middle School on Overlea Blvd.
Local Imams are brought in to lead the 30 to 40 minute service in which the boys sit in front of girls in the lunch room, where non-Muslims are banned during prayers.
(Journalist Mark Steyn describes the service thus: boys enter from the main doors and sit up front. Girls enter from the back of the hall and sit behind the boys. Girls who are menstruating must tell the Imam and MUST sit at the rear as they are Un-Clean and must be segregated! Even our own premier Wynne-bag had to sit at the back when she went to a Mosque to speak after the Quebec shootings of 6 Muslims-so much for women`s rights if these guys gain control!)
The service has created controversy among parents and others who claim the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) should be secular and not have religious programming.
Meir Weinstein, of the Jewish Defence League Canada, is concerned about radical or fundamental Imams leading the service and influencing children.
(The local school board is running so scared of Muslims that they have decided NOT to bother censoring the prayers and speeches of Imams at the school as it offends Muslims to have to seek OUR approval for anything! And LIE-berals are so desperate to buy Muslim votes that they are sneering `Islamophobic Bigot ` at anybody who dares to complain about the prayer in school mess!)
He is concerned about some of the background or teachings of the Imams.
“There has to be someone to monitor the prayer services,” Weinstein said.
“We worry if they will extend their prayers to include religious ideology,” he said, “We hope this is not a trend that will continue with the TDSB.”
(Based on those previously mentioned news reports about radical writings at Muslims schools it seems quite clear that Imams at local schools ALREADY FEEL FREE to say pretty much whatever they want without regard to our laws or rights!)
Homa Arjomand, of International Campaign Against Sharia Courts in Canada, called the service a “political statement” by Muslim leaders.
“We are against this 100% because it has nothing to do with the public school system,” Arjomand said. “The Muslims are trying to influence secular institutions in Canada.”
(Agreed- this is a push by radicals who should NEVER have been let into the country- thank you LIE-berals for letting this poison take root here!)
Members of the Hindu Advocacy have already called for non-halal meat products for their students.
(Good GOD- now they want to argue about how meat is produced? Halal meat is produced by cutting the throat of the animal and letting it bleed out. Canadian law generally expects that animals should be unconscious prior to being cut- which is why cows and pigs get hit on the head and chickens get their necks broken etc before being cut- it’s the most painless way to kill something. But the Halal animal takes time to die and is fully conscious as well while it bleeds- so much for Cdn anti cruelty laws and the Hindus that support them! Thank you LIE-berals for this new opportunity to argue over food!)
TDSB Superintendent of Education Jim Spyropoulos said there a number of schools in Toronto that “accommodate” students with prayer requests. He did not know how many students or schools took part.
Spyropoulos said his board has to accommodate Muslims, or other ethnic groups, due to Ontario Human Rights and TDSB policy.
“We will consider the prayer request for any group who has to pray during school hours,” he said. “We have an obligation to accommodate any group or students who may have prayer needs.”
(Yeah, but you know TDSB LIE-beral lovers are egging on the Human Rights- but too often Wrong people to oppose Islamophobia so LIE-berals can cling to power. And you know they wont be celebrating a Jewish holiday or Hindu holy event in any Cdn school any time soon- such people just do not threaten LIE-berals as thoroughly as Muslims do!)
He said the services will not be monitored because “we do not have the right to tell people how to worship.”
