Rural Cuba was one of the places I visited that truly broke my heart. The first time I went I was shocked. I expected poverty, but not like the one I saw. The small towns are unkept, the roads, people, housing, have obviously been completely abandoned by the government. The people are so nice there, I felt bad for them. The Castro island with it's palace was however a place to be seen. If I had been born in Cuba, I would without any doubts taken a boat and tried to make it anywhere. I hope that with this dictator's death, the people have hope of a better life. People are cheering, and rightfully so.

Trump, in my opinion gave the just response to Fidel's death. Good riddance, may the people of Cuba surpass this dark period in their history. JT needs to shake his head, and go there and see what this dictator has done the the island and it's people.
But JT thought he was giving a profound statesmanlike statement ,on official letterhead no less .

Check out twitter, #TrudeauEulogies. Seems a lot of Canadian's didn't like JT's glorious praise of Castro. Some of the tweets are really funny. The US is not responding very favourably to JT faux pas either. I guess JT never knew the atrocities committed by Castro or maybe he has selective memory.

The embarrassment, Yikes!! JT's speech in front of the world!!

"Fidel Castro was a larger than life leader who served his people for almost half a century. A legendary revolutionary and orator, Mr. Castro made significant improvements to the education and healthcare of his island nation.
"While a controversial figure, both Mr. Castro’s supporters and detractors recognized his tremendous dedication and love for the Cuban people (OMG) who had a deep and lasting affection (that must be the Army) for "el Comandante".
"I know my father was very proud to call him a friend....?
