In case you've been living under a rock the last decade, it should be obvious by now that traditional conservatism has gone belly up.

Putting aside the obvious motivators, either federally or in places like Ontario, Quebec or California, it's patently clear that populist movements in some parts of Europe and even the Trumpian variety are inherently against free markets and private establishment. They're simply another variety of the controlling side of the political spectrum.

The same people who try to convince you that they are on the right are also rabid supporters of protectionism and social reform.

Make no mistake, these people are leftists.

They are simply of the harmful variety, that would seek to supplant any criticism in favour of a brash, abrasive authority figure.

I agree ..... I think it is the media which has us vote against our own interests.

I am a bit paranoid about what is happening in Ontario.

I am hoping that the NDP can win the election without totally destroying the Liberal Party with the results leaving the Liberals with only a couple of seats, but if the Liberal party needs to be destroyed in order for the Left to win, then so be it.

They'll be lucky to put enough of dent in Ford to get a minority government.

If they do, however, he's ****ed.

Traditional Conservatism is well to the left of the Neocon, Neofascism that has replaced it. Conservatives used to believe that it was their Christian duty to take care of those who cannot make it without help. Now, it's every man for himself and grasping for money has "trumped" things like honour, honesty, patriotism, noblesse oblige.

I am not ready to think that it is in the bag for Doug Ford.

Perhaps more confident of my predictions or hopes by May 28th.

We need to be careful with the knowledge that the media is "Corporate Media" and thus the polls and trends might well be slow in real time.

I am a "soft" Conservative, middle of the spectrum ... what we used to know as Progressive-Conservative (No, you Neocons who have grown up watching Yankee politics ... "Progressive" comes from the historic merger of to right-of-centre parties ... the Conservative Party and the Progressive Party)

Damned if I know how I'm going to vote, this time. The Liberals are as corrupt as the Borgias and should all be swinging from lamp posts. The NDP are just plain flaky and will leave the place fairly trashed (as they did back during Rae Days). Doug Ford is a crack head, dope-dealing criminal thug who can't pass up another opportunity to set up another Ford Nation Tammany Hall feeding trough for himself.

None of the above, man. I first voted about a week after I turned 18, I am about to turn 62 and this is the first time that NOT ONE CHOICE has been acceptable. From my standpoint, the Conservative Party skipped over two exceptional leadership candidates and instead settled on the low, low, lowest common denominator. Bill Davis must be appalled.

I think that Bob Rae was dealt a raw deal and was/is the victim of Corporate Media. The Ruling Class in this country just totally hate the NDP and socialism. Just look at how the Ruling Class treat any form of socialism around the globe. They even buy the bullets to use.

I remember how the Corporations purchased huge billboards to badmouth Bob Rae. Every bank and rating agency badmouthed him. It was a concerted effort to destroy the NDP government. The Ruling Class used every arrow they had in their quiver against him.

I admire Bob Rae ...... he did not resort to slash and burn like Harris did. He did his best to keep the programs already in place.

Corporate money is just pouring into the Conservative Party while all the time business claims to be near bankruptcy.

Donald Trump supports protectionism.

Even the NDP won't do that.

Congratulations.

You're a leftard!
