It's the PMO being behind the eco-bastards that's troubling.

Being behind? The PMO is comprised of these enviro zealots.

The "resigner in chief" who controls Trudeau and pulls all the strings was the President and CEO of the World Wildlife Fund before giving that gig up to run the country.

New Liberal Heritage Minister Steven Guilbeault is a former director and campaign manager for Greenpeace and was involved in environmental activism for decades before joining Trudeau's cabinet.

The newly minted Liberal Chair of the Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development and new Minister of Seniors is Deb Schulte who was a member of the Greenbelt Task Force and on both the Oak Ridges Moraine Foundation and the Humber Watershed Alliance.

Trudeau, as usual, is talking out of both side of his mouth....something he excels at. On one hand he is telling the West he is listening, meanwhile, he's been stacking the Ministerial deck with environmental activists. And his hapless ignorant Eastern moron supporters who are oblivious think everything is great keep eating up the shit he's serving and asking for more while the rest of the country pulls itself apart.

One would think our own Government would be doing this, but I guess Trudeau never learned what damage his old man did to Canada with the ill-fated NEP. It's especially disheartening to watch the publicly funded CBC take on an as anti-oilsands slant.

Tater tot is in politics solely for his own personal gain, no other reason

I'm generally not in favour of the Government owning a TV station. The CRTC was created for a reason, and one would hope the CBC would be sold off to private interests eventually.

CBC is a money-pit to the tune of over a billion each year. Given that a number of broadcasters in the private sector actually make money, why is it that the CBC is such a money loser?

On top of all that, it's little more than a mouth-piece for the liberal party

Strategic Group puts 50 Calgary properties, with $650M in mortgages, under creditor protection

Where are all the alternative energy companies that are suppose to replace carbon energy companies? Lots of cheap office space available

Where are the alt energy and renewable companies?

The irony is that they can't exist without direct gvt cash infusions or guaranteed contracts and now that tater tot has pooched forestry, mining and energy, well, there ain't no real tax money coming in any more to fund the renewables industry.

They became of less and less importance over time as logic would dictate.
Much like IT jobs, most of which never paid well to start with. It wasn't all that long ago there were advertisements for a career in key punch operators. Now nobody even uses servers anymore. more IT Mcjobs lost. But that's OK they can just play Xbox at home.

Disheartening? It is no less than nauseating that a government owned public broadcasting system is so biased towards the left and so afraid of what it might read in the comments section it has banned commenting on numerous articles.

The sooner it is sold off to private interests, the sooner it might become relevant again. The only thing worth watching on CBC TV is sports coverage which they haven't completely screwed up yet.

I might add..............and a perfect opportunity to try out his pathetic attempts at acting......though I gotta say he does have that crying jag thing down pat.

I'd vote for the first party that finally sold off this waste of TV and radio space corporation. The reason it is a money loser is that anyone with half a brain doesn't bother to tune in, Cap.

Alberta fires back at UN committee for criticism of energy megaprojects

EDMONTON — Alberta's energy minister says the United Nations is an unelected, unaccountable body that has no business criticizing Canada's energy megaprojects.
Sonya Savage, in a statement, says that it's the job of elected leaders, not the UN, to make decisions on how best to govern people and economies.
The UN's Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination has urged Canada to stop work on three major resource projects — including the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion — until it obtains approval from affected First Nations.
The committee, in a directive last month, says it's worried that work is going ahead without free, prior and informed consent of Indigenous groups.
Savage says the committee is ignoring the majority of First Nations groups that support projects such as Trans Mountain and the Coastal GasLink natural gas pipeline.
She says the criticism is unfair and out of context, given Canada's track record on making sure all voices are heard.
"With all the injustice in the world, it’s beyond rich that the unelected, unaccountable United Nations would seemingly single out Canada — one of the greatest champions of human rights, democracy and the rule of law," Savage said Tuesday.
“Canada’s duly elected representatives — not unaccountable international committees — are responsible for governing decisions in this country.”
The Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers also said in a statement Tuesday that the committee's directive shows an "ignorance of Canadian law and consultation processes."
CAPP said the three projects cited by the committee — TransMountain, Site C and Coastal GasLink — underwent extensive consulation and review in accordance with Canadian laws.
Trans Mountain Corp., the federal Crown corporation building the pipeline expansion from Alberta to the British Columbia coast, says it is moving forward with construction safely and in respect of communities.
BC Hydro says it has been consulting with affected First Nations on the Site C hydroelectric dam since 2007 and has reached benefit agreements with most of them.
The UN committee previously demanded a halt to Site C, which is opposed by the West Moberly and Prophet River First Nations in northeastern British Columbia.
However, this marks the first time it has called for a stop to the Trans Mountain and Coastal GasLink projects.
Members of the Wet’suwet’en have tried to block construction of the Coastal GasLink pipeline near Smithers, B.C. The natural gas pipeline is part of a $40-billion LNG Canada project.
