first off I am not looking for grants to produce movies absolutely full of gratuitous violence and group sex..

Secondly, I feel that the elected representatives have not asked any people in the film community which films should be funded and which ones should not. If you are of the opinion that the elected representatives should gage their opinion by asking other groups not associated with fine arts to tell artists what is art and what is not, then my good friend your are suggesting that groups not associated by the very industry of fine arts should decide for them, and that in the eyes of freedom is censorship.

Thirdly, comparing you buying a copy of a MacLean’s over a Penthouse is so out of context, it is like comparing butterflies to elephants.

Fourthly, the elected representatives deciding for the fine arts what is warranted of government support or not with out any dialog on the very subject we are entering the theater of dictatorship. Smile, that is not their Job, we are not in China, we are in North America were freedom of expression in the 21st century should prevail.

Fifthly, you may not be a supporter of fine arts but my dear friend once again fine arts is a heritage which no dictator has the right to mussel.
I hope this can bring some awareness that a country with out fine arts is very BORING AND DULL COUNTRY IN TH EYES OF FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Bear, first off Fine Arts is not "BullShyte" second this life is not about one topic, this life is about chewing the fat on issues that concern Canadians when it comes to minority Governments who operate as if they were elected as a majority.

You obviously are not paying attention to the bone of contention with regards to the reason why fine arts is last on Harpers agenda. Here let me explain it to you one more time. Harpers partisan politics will not allow him to respect equality for minorities, particularly when it comes to a woman in fine arts simply because she had the intellectual fortitude to criticize Harper the closet bigot about controversial issues such as gays and lesbians. If you and some others on this thread feel that gays and lesbians have no say in Canadian politics, man you and some people here you got serious social anxieties which cause you to look as if you would rather see your selfs as gods gift to humanity than get along with humanity.
