The past may have had it's 'moments', what has no been fulfilled is the climax of the book so no matter how the past went the future will make it seem like 'the good old days'. This is started and finished in the 1st hour of a program of a global devastation that has a 3 1/2 hour time limint.
Re:18:8:
Therefore shall her plagues come in one day,
death,
and mourning,
and famine;
and she shall be utterly burned with fire:
for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.
Re:18:19:
And they cast dust on their heads,
and cried,
weeping and wailing,
saying,
Alas,
alas,
that great city,
wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness!
for in one hour is she made desolate.
Zec:14:7:
But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD,
not day,
nor night:
but it shall come to pass,
that at evening time it shall be light.
This is what comes down in those few hours. It begins about an hour after the two witnesses are resurrected to an observation point directly above Satan's Babylon. The path of destruction is given in Jeremiah:25 and it starts at Jerusalem. The effects that come with the vials cover the globe in those 3 1/2 hours. The battle is against angelic forces in that two fallen angels end up in the fiery lake and their leader is put into chains and the angelic form of an escape proof prison.
God uses the grave for the same purpose. Mankind is born into sin and a prison term is demanded by God, no exceptions. The grave is the punishment and being released from there means God has extracted all the punishment allowed and the former sins are not part of the future relationship with God, the Holy Spirit and Christ as being from the place that was responsible for the creation of heaven and earth and all that is in them.
There are enough passages available that expand on Re:16 that it would make this an article rather than a post. I will say that the Gentiles 'living carelessly' in Eze:39 is referencing the same ones in the list given in Jer:25 and the timing is given and it shows that it is a matter of start to finish being in moments rather than something of long duration.
The 6th vial will mess people up because of the reference to 'kings of the earth'. At the start of the woes 3 1/2 years before the day of return angelic beings take control in a war that lasts one single hour, 10 men are given kingdoms that include all the nations on earth, They die in the earlier vials and the Gentiles in the Nations that survived will have somebody that inherits that title of 'king' and it is those kings that are being referenced . The heat from the fire that takes out Satan's Babylon removes the water so the 10 kings and all the people behind then do not encounter any water before coming to the water defined in Eze:47.
Zec:8:18-23:
And the word of the LORD of hosts came unto me,
saying,
Thus saith the LORD of hosts;
The fast of the fourth month,
and the fast of the fifth,
and the fast of the seventh,
and the fast of the tenth,
shall be to the house of Judah joy and gladness,
and cheerful feasts;
therefore love the truth and peace.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts;
It shall yet come to pass,
that there shall come people,
and the inhabitants of many cities:
And the inhabitants of one city shall go to another,
saying,
Let us go speedily to pray before the LORD,
and to seek the LORD of hosts: I will go also.
Yea,
many people and strong nations shall come to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem,
and to pray before the LORD.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts;
In those days it shall come to pass,
that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations,
even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew,
saying,
We will go with you:
for we have heard that God is with you.
Zec:13:8:
And it shall come to pass,
that in all the land,
saith the LORD,
two parts therein shall be cut off and die;
but the third shall be left therein.
Zec:13:9:
And I will bring the third part through the fire,
and will refine them as silver is refined,
and will try them as gold is tried:
they shall call on my name,
and I will hear them:
I will say,
It is my people:
and they shall say,
The LORD is my God.
This is the first of all Gentiles gathered to God, the last ones make that group as whole as the House of Israel is made at the start of the 1,000 years.
Isa:56:1-8:
Thus saith the LORD,
Keep ye judgment,
and do justice:
for my salvation is near to come,
and my righteousness to be revealed.
Blessed is the man that doeth this,
and the son of man that layeth hold on it;
that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it,
and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.
Neither let the son of the stranger,
that hath joined himself to the LORD,
speak,
saying,
The LORD hath utterly separated me from his people:
neither let the eunuch say,
Behold,
I am a dry tree.
For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths,
and choose the things that please me,
and take hold of my covenant;
Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters:
I will give them an everlasting name,
that shall not be cut off.
Also the sons of the stranger,
that join themselves to the LORD,
to serve him,
and to love the name of the LORD,
to be his servants,
every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it,
and taketh hold of my covenant;
Even them will I bring to my holy mountain,
and make them joyful in my house of prayer:
their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar;
for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.
The Lord GOD which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith,
Yet will I gather others to him,
beside those that are gathered unto him.
Zec:14:16:
And it shall come to pass,
that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King,
the LORD of hosts,
and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
It will be Cain's attempted offering to God that will be accepted in a place that is sinless and populated by immortal men. There is so much information God even put it into a book. Some are meant to clue in, most can't pick up on it until their time to become believers through the witness of power rather than words.
1Co:4:20:
For the kingdom of God is not in word,
but in power.
