To put that into perspective, we, the taxpayers, spent roughly $75 million on the Los Angeles Olympics and $609 million on the Atlanta Olympics.

This prompted Senator John McCain to call the Salt Lake game a "pork-barrel" project.

“I think it is a disgrace,” said Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., who, along with U.S. Rep. John Dingell, D-Mich., asked the government agency to investigate the escalating expenditures for hosting the Olympic games in American cities.“But this is a logical extension of what you get when you start pork-barrel spending.”​

As a result of the investigation, ten members of the IOC were expelled and another ten were sanctioned.[7] This was the first expulsion or sanction for corruption in the more than a century the IOC had existed. Although nothing strictly illegal had been done, it was felt that the acceptance of the gifts was morally dubious.

The reason churches don't endorse is because it is illegal...they would lose their tax exempt status.

I don't think he has a skeleton in his body let alone his closet. The way he changes positions like a windsock in a tornado leads me to believe he is at least missing a spine.
As for the olympics, well Utah is still paying for them and will be for some time as they lost more money than Romney is worth. They showed a net surplus of $40 million at the closing ceremonies but this included $1.3 billion in subsidies from the federal govt or, taking away the taxpayer contribution, a net loss of $1,260,000,000. Do you really call that successful?
