What about the other way around? 2 of my aunts were Eastern Star, and they were sisters-in-law. (Dad's sister and his brother's wife). I know one uncle was a Mason (Dad's brother-in-law) but... hmmmm....

I might have to ask some questions. ;)

Well it is a gentleman’s club. I think the Easter Star is so the men have an idea of what their wives are up to when they are gone to all those meetings.

If you read their side of the story you would believe they are angels from heaven; read others you would think they were demons.

i thought the mason guys were just a cult. secret handshake and all that ritual stuff.

I think it's a bit more than a cult....just look at who’s who in early America. I think they hold more power than any regular cult.

We all know that faith cannot be proven to the satisfaction of secular individuals such as yourself.

It is like the wind or gravity, you can see the effects but you cannot see either the wind or gravity themselves.

That statement could not be more wrong though tibear. Wind and gravity can be tested and affirmed with the application of scientific method and fact. The same cannot be said of faith.

Faith is a denial of fact.

Isn't it funny how some people think what scientists (regular old human beings) say is the end-all and be-all. Notice how scientists are wrong quite often, make conclusions- then change their minds, negate actual facts to further their own agendas. In the science world of facts, they used to think that life began when a baby was conceived; of course this changed for some scientists when they figured out that babies could benefit them more before they are born.
You speak of science like it's perfect. Scientist have notoriously wronged humans in the past.

That's the most twisted, uninformed interpretation of science that i've seen in almost a week, Jamie. Do you have any idea how the scientific method works?

A likely answer from a person who would open wide and say thank you to anything a scientist tried to shove down their throat.

Well is that not something. Science provides the how jamie not the why. The why is for each of us to interpert, and unfortuneately many of us do not interpert it in a religious way. You are free to do so tho, only you cannot force it upon others through laws and legislation.

I'm tolerant of other cultures, Jamie. 'm intolerant of being expected to follow blind superstition instead of informed thought.

interesting. i will have to have a look around here. i am sure a lot of buildings have the same type of relief work on them. the symbolism is a whole other thing to look into, that's for sure!

I'm not a big believer in the Mason conspiracy thing. The Mason's were just another men's club for most of their existence...a place to go and hang out and drink beer. It was open to pretty much anybody...not like the Bilderbergs or even the MOPAR club, which are much more elitist.

They did have some odd symbolism though. It does show up in the Manitoba legislature again and again. That isn't really surprising since everybody connected with the building of the legislature was a Mason. Hell, if Fred and Barney would have built the place it would have all the symbolism of the Royal Order of the Water Buffalo.

I think it noteworthy that so many Freemasons have held seats of power.

6 Canadian Prime Ministers, including Sir John A. That's approximately 28.6% of our country's leaders.

14 of the 42 US presidents have been Freemasons...and get this...Dubya, number 42, although he's not a mason, pushes the percentage of masonic presidents to 33.333333333333%...I think that may have some significance to the masons around the world...kooky bastards that they are...8O

The fact is the bible has been changed over the years. Like why was reincarnation taken out? Was it a swipe at the largest "religions" Hindu and buddists? 66% of population believe in re incarnation.

If people had a mental illness or diferent they were branded as evil or possesed by demons, The catholic church was particularily bad for that and thats why the British Parliement sided (by 1 vote) with the reining monarch to form the Church of England.

Whenever science disproves something religion changes. To me religion is a fairy tale. We are brainwashed into believing in Heaven, hell, God etc from the moment we come out of the womb. If you put all newborns on a deserted island and told them they go see Santa Claus when they die, and since they have no acess to the rest of the world they will believe it.

Yes I am an athiest. I just do not believe in Religion or God. But if people need faith or want to worship God its not my business and I could care less if anyone does. We are a free country and have freedom of religion and we do not discrimminate aginst people practicing religion. Yet most churches discriminate against people who do not follow their doctrine.

Doesn't judging others suppose to be left up to "God" and not religious people? You religious people theoritically should go to hell when you die as only your "God" can judge yet religious groups routinly judge and discriminate and have no understanding of people who are diferent than them. And does not that violate your "Gods" law?
