My impressions of yesterday's testimony.

Brett Kavanaugh

I would rather not have had the sniffling and teary outrage. There's too much of that from men who want to show their 'sensitive' side and end up looking kind of ridiculous and weak. This was a mugging by the Democrats and Kavanaugh had every right to be outraged. I would have just preferred it was done, metaphorically at least, with a clenched fist rather than a tear in the eye. The Dems on this committee are hypocrites, phonies and grandstanders and deserved to be taken to task by the witness, as they were by Sen. Graham.

My sense of Kavanaugh's prep and college freshman years is that he was studied hard, played hard and partied hard. He drank to excess on Friday and Saturday nights and spent long hours in the library and less so on the basketball court the rest of the time. He was likely no more aggressive, belligerant or sloppy when drunk than anyone else in his social class but was undoubtedly somewhat obnoxious as such (weren't we all).

My overall impression of his relationship with women is that he was respectful, polite, deferential and somewhat shy with girls when drunk or sober. There is simply no history of bullying, harrassing, groping or 'hitting on' females. This incident would not only be anomalous it would be completely antithetical to everyones impression of him at the time.. male or female. Except Dr. Ford.

Christina Blasey Ford

This entire 'Recovered Memory Syndrome' seems to have come out of therapy for a marital crisis which she experienced in 2012. Nothing of it seems to have been mentioned of it to anyone prior to that. It seems to involve a pyschological technique of mining the psyche for lost emotional trauma in an effort to come to confront and to get a grip on it.

It has been, in some professional circles, debunked as a quack science of implanting or imagining memory. It became much rarer diagnosis after several successful lawsuits against practioners were filed in the 90s in cases had produced family breakups and fraudulent charges of sexual molestation without any corroboration whatsoever.

What i noticed most about her testimony was her reference of lifelong PTSD resulting from this incident. This is a real pschic disorder. It is most notably recognized in soldiers who have endured prolonged tours of constant combat, fatigue, fear, disorientation and disruption of normal life rhythms. They often watch friends and comrades greiviously injured and killed.

Now Ford's was from an incident which happend 36 years prior that might have lasted 30 - 60 seconds, was not consumated or pressed to coercion and violence and was not of a product of and did not elicit any long term harrassment or abuse.

I would describe Blasey as emotionally fragile, highly intelligent, very focussed and methodical. She seemed almost 'girlish' 'precious' and disconnected in her testimony. I think she believes her testimony to be authentic. Her profession as a Biometric Statician is so arcane that i looked up my assessment of what Tempermental Type (Keirsey) might of someone who would gravitate to such a discipline.. Bear with me!

I came up with iNTj (check out their website) which generally is characteristic of focussed, methodical individuals, usually highly accomplished in statistical disciplines. It is an introverted in type. These individuals tend to see the world through and internal mnemonic sphere to which he/she conforms their objective reality. The objective world then is predicated on an introspectice subjective reality. The objective reality thereby conforms to inner archetypes, rather than vice versa.

What i'm getting to is the Christina Ford Blasey might have constructed her own reality and filled in its characters with people from her past. This is a powerful enough psychological perception that she becomes utterly convinced of its objective reality. Enough to, say, pass a polygraph test.

I'm not saying she's delusional. It might have really happened with someone, somewhere, in whole or part. She just might have constructed a script in which she became the victim and heroine with other parts filled in as necessary. I'm saying she might have constructed a subjective, introspective reality which she sees as completely objectively authentic. It means in this incident she might be living in her own made up reality, which perhaps corresponds to the political and cultural prejudices of her own academic community, now primarily defined by the Me Too movement and its understandings

Perhaps this is why she demanded that Kavanaugh not be present in the room with her as it might have posed an intolerable inconsistency and contradiction with her construct.

Of course, i could be wrong! :)

Man, what a pile of hooey!

Kavanaugh drunkenly groped Ford as a young 17 year old. It would not have been the end of the world if he had just manned up and admitted it. We all made mistakes as young boys/ men.

I don't think any of this happened. Kavanaugh might have be a drunken schoolboy at the time.. but he just wasn't a groper. He was a slightly wayward Catholic Atlar Boy.

Brett Kavanaugh was insulting, disrespectful, entitled, whiny, snivelling, arrogant, deflecting, (lying?) and far too biased towards one (now minority) political extreme to be crowned as a Supreme Court Justice for the rest of his life. I can't imagine how he ever became a judge, although the echoes of small-time shuyster lawyer came through loud and clear. The Americans elect their judges and any idiot can get elected. It is quote possible to elect a gangster to be a judge and no doubt it has happened multiple times. Politics aside, conspiracy theories aside, Trump infatuation aside, we've seen the stuff that this guy is made of and it it's the wrong stuff beyond a shadow of a doubt.

I'm quite content to be at home today watching history unfold - ugly, nasty, partisan and bitter as it may be. It will be a wonderful story to share with my great-grandchildren one day.

Wonderful! How? I thought Dr. Ford had some credibility until I turned on the idiot box a couple of hours ago to see a real whack job emerge!

really just another example of a republican party that is totally inept.

a bunch of idiots

The Dems are the idiots. They want an F.B.I. investigation. How ridiculous can it get? F.B.I. has enough on their plate rounding up criminals. After granting Dr. Ford some credibility yesterday, I saw a real whack job emerge on the idiot box this morning! Wind the case up and install Kavanaugh to the post!

He said , she said . That is all you have . Usually the burden of proof falls on the accuser . Have you seen any proof ?

Once again you prove you are Gullible George and have no clue about what you say . Maybe check facts before spewing nonsense , or at least ask Techumshe or Eagle how federal judges are appointed .

If Kavanaugh was lying and tangible proof that he was lying comes to the surface in the future, any upcoming Congress can impeach him for his perjury. This will have no statute of limitations on it and if there is even a snippet of truth to the allegations that he has just denied, Kavanaugh is out of the Supreme Court on his ear or worse. This will never go away.

I had no idea so many of you on this forum were blinded by such partisan-fueled hate. I think around 80% of you are off of your nut on this one!

Let's just wait for the other shoe(s) to drop.

It's actually he said , they said.

Ford is not the only one accusing the wayward youngster.

Well that's it folks..........shows over for now. Stay tuned for the FBI investigation. I wonder if Kavanaugh will withdraw his name now that he will face questions relating to his alleged behavior back in his youth? Was he just the sloppy, silly drunken dolt that CS portrays or the giggling lech prone to jump on girls at any given moment?

How about jury duty from a smart phone once it shows you have followed the trial? Maybe use a thumbs up/down thing you keep the bandwidth down.

This is one thing they can investigate until the cows come home, but we will never see a truth we can be 100% sure of! Pretty sad, seeing so much money be squandered on it. Change the rules! Install him as head judge until he screws up and then lower the boom.
