From my point of view the major US media are all mouthpieces for some political party. I get tired of hear what they want me to hear vs what is really happening from a fair and balanced fact based reporting.

Why shut something down when showing it's flaws to their own audience results in Trump getting new supporters. He has been shutting them down since he announced he was running. At some point they will have to support him just due to his popularity with the public or the rest of their audience will leave for that same reason.
In Trump's case it might be better to 'repair the damage' after he has had his time in power. Basically it is like Venezuela as Hugo came into power and TPTB ducked away to Miami until that is reversed and then it is back to 'Plan A'
