Not the solar panel and windmill industry importers....they are subsidized by our government...
But flossy thinks that's OK...

Import tarrifs of 130% on Chinese solar because a 600% mark up isn't a burden enough on Canadian buyers.

Protectionism!

They look for the government to put the American citizens first in trade deals...

Sounds exactly what Justin says about Canada and the trade deal with Europe.

...and set a business climate where it is more attractive for Ford to make cars in the US thereby employing US citizens.

Yes, the left always like to interfere in business. Thanks for supporting my position. "More attractive in the U.S." is just a euphemism for tariffs and the lefties sure do love their tariffs.

If you're going to bring up sexual harassment by a president then you open the door to bring up the only person found guilty of doing it.

Bill wasn't running for President nor is he the President elect. He's just a deflection for the Trumpites so they don't have to deal with Trump's misogyny.

...and the Trumpites love that kind of stuff

Again, I don't see this as a left-right issue so much as a nationalist-universalist issue myself.

Some leftists are pro-free-trade just as some conservatives are protectionist.

Maybe but we can't believe the Tater-tot will actually do that. He is a spineless idiot that only cares about the good selfie opportunity. His knowledge of economics stops short of spelling the word correctly.

Historically the role of government is to regulate commerce and trade. They do not really have a role in governing the affairs or private business of the citizens.

Bill did run for president twice and was the president elect and is still the only president ever to be found guilty of committing sexual assault and sexual harassment. Slick Willy is a proven misogynistic rapist, you cannot actually say that about Trump.

I don't disagree with you there. We're now heading down a dangerous path, and I wouldn't discount Leitch becoming head of a new and pupoular Conservative Party of Canada unfortunately.

At the risk of beating a dead horse, this thread is about the leftist Trump, not the Clintons, though I do understand your need to keep trying to make it about the Clintons. If I supported a leftist while pretending I was conservative, I might try to throw mud around....actually, I wouldn't because I'm not a hypocrite.

What is it that is dangerous about protecting the livelihood of the citizens of your country. We elect governments to do just that. We do not elect them to take all our money and give it away to others without any benefit to us. Do you seek to put every average Canadian citizen into poverty so the citizens of Zambia or Laos can have a better lifestyle? Seriously...explain how and why you seem to support taking the fruits of my labour and using them to provide a better life for people in other countries especially when I do not want to give my labour for that reason.

Do the Conservatives want to commit suicide like that or do they want to create an alternative to the Liberals based on good and competent governance but appealing to the Middle (that has worked, in the past)?

Baby Republican wannabes like Leitch may turn on portions of her party but there is no way in hell that they could form a government outside of Alberta. They might chose her, though. The message does not seem to be perculating through Conservative circles very well. No one is thinking it through.

Sounds like something Rachel Notley would say
