I have refrained from posting on this thread because I was too pissed off to see the bigotry that has flowed from the beginning and the person who started it knew this would happen. I was brought up a Roman Catholic but over the years my eyes have been opened by the &#@% actions of it's representatives (I'm not sure how to word this). They have always condemed other beliefs even if they mirror their own. If you look at human nature you find that the more the protest of attach something it is a sympton of their fears. The Church has never been tolerant even if in their bible it say Jesus preached tolerance. A lot of RC, like myself, do not practice anymore because of this intolerance and finger pointing. The clergy had control over their sheep as long as they were not too educated and they could control them, but that had changed and we now see more clearly. As I have said before, God gave us intelligence, with that came reason and it was for us to use them and not be lead around by our noses. I don't care what beliefs people have, if they are good loving people and try to lead good, honest, caring lives who are we to judge.

Sanctus
You say people are pointing out the few error of the Church. Well as far as I am concerned they are big error compounded with the coverup of the pedophiles in the clergy, and why shouldn't we point fingers you do more of you share of pointing.

Self
Don't ever give up your beliefs unless you decide to do it without undo influence. You deserve respect because as far as I have seen in your postes you are a good person and deserve to be happy.

**Here is something that just came to mind: the bigotry on this thread makes me think of the fighting between the ****es and Sunnis in Iraq. It hasn't gotten to that point but I bet it began with the same type of bigotry.

I have ranted enough and maybe said too much but I still wish you all peace and love. You all have a right to your beliefs but it does not give anyone the right to label people with other beliefs.

I saw a sparrow today. She made me smile and swelled my heart have you been astroprojecting? You are a bright one and believe you me I wont be taken off this path ever again. It is my true corse and try as they may I know we will all meet at the end ;)

It's sad. I feel religion has so many great things to learn from one another, and this hatred and anger isn't one of the things we should be teaching eachother.

but what i dont get is that everything cant be right.i mean, jesus says he is the only way for example, so that dosent seem to leave room for other beliefs. very confusing

THIS is why I ignored this thread in the first place. But when I didnt take the bait the Priests harpies started a fire. I want everyone to notice the players in this drama. Priest starts thread, certain members stir the pot and others react. Im making wages that there are at least 3 "parishioners" of the priest's "church" that are members of this site.

Christions will always hate Pagans because deep down they have guilty conscious' about past lives thats why the scour so much. So light a candle for justice and one for clarity and another forforgivemess. Imbloc is coming and the Goddess will be full and loving.

that sounds kinda paranoid. im not in his church, if you eamn sanctus:)(though id like to meet him one day)

I don't believe that Christ, the King of kings, the Son of God, would be so little as to bar someone from heaven based on them having chosen a different religious path. if that path was based on belittling His name, if that path was based on belittling other humans, if that path was based on creating harm, then yes.... I can see Jesus not allowing someone entry into Heaven. But I don't believe that Christ would look upon someone who chooses another path, one which strengthens them, one which creates harmony for them and is based on helping others, and refuse them entry into Heaven. His spirit is what matters, in my opinion. That may not flow with what the majority of my church thinks, but, much of what people in my own church say is hypocritical, and goes against the pure teachings of Jesus.

Take full advantage of your time in RCIA maple. ask questions, challenge anything that doesn't seem quite right to you. talk talk talk. I know that at face value a lot of Catholicism didn't sit well with me. challenging the priests and nuns who worked with me through my confirmation process and again through my engagement, I learned a LOT, and was able to come to some understanding of the theory behind what is written at the surface.

Look, there is nothing wrong with isolating sources of evil in society, and paganism is one of the main evils afflicting many of our young people today.

what is evil about it? i know the church is against it cos i talked to a new priest tonight and he told me it is, lets see if i get his words right, "veiled satanism"??? not quite sure what that means, but he told me it was dangerous and against the teachings of jesus/ so id be really interested in what exactly is evil about paganism.

It's is just a good democratic group of "faiths", and yes, very confusing.

I'm sure glad I don't have to try and figure all of them out, and try to choose, it's like trying to
pick out a new coat. Do I like the tight one that's too confining , or the loose one that doesn't bother me too much, or the short one, that only keeps me a little bit warm, or the raincoat, that sheds all
other particles, or the army coat, that fights back, or the fur coat, that joins me with the animals,
or the coat of many colors, that lets me go anywhere, or the red coat that makes the devil smile.
Good luck everyone, hope you find the right one.

thats actually why i talked to my new priest tonight cos this thread was like all over the place and so i tried to maybe get him to explain it to me. ill read it all again tomorrow and see what sense it makes, but if someone says something is evil id like to know why. know what i mean? you just cant say something is one way or another without telling me why. thats the way i am.
