As for Obama,at first it was a change from the mostly usual old white guys,but when you heard silly comment from people just after the election,which they said "He is the best president the US ever had" and the guy had done nothing yet.
Is becoming President no longer considered an ambitious objective in the US? You don't think being a visible minority is a disadvantage to becoming one? What is successful and hardworking to you, creating ponzi schemes? Hiring slave labor in China? Hiring accountants to manage your old money? What he overcame in beating Hilary alone is for the record books. Call him what you want but he didn't get to where he is by simply eating fried chicken or parachuting in on the backs well-to-do family members.

But IMHO, Obama's race to the WH was run on pure, unadulterated hype. His Presidency, which has been as lackluster as his predecessor, is proof of that.

Obama didn't get elected so much on his ability. More on playing the race card and the opposition being even worse prospect. That being said he really hasn't done too bad with what he had to work with and so many working diligently to make him fail.
