So the relationship between you and your wife or husband, between you and the politician is really the relationship between these two images. Right? That is a fact.![]()
The image you have about a person, the image you have about your politicians, the prime minister, your god, your wife, your children—that image is being looked at. And that image has been created through your relationship, or through your fears, or through your hopes. The sexual and other pleasures you have had with your wife, your husband, the anger, the flattery, the comfort, and all the things that your family life brings—a deadly life it is—have created an image about your wife or husband. With that image you look. Similarly, your wife or husband has an image about you. So the relationship between you and your wife or husband, between you and the politician is really the relationship between these two images. Right? That is a fact. How can two images which are the result of thought, of pleasure and so on, have any affection or love?So the relationship between two individuals, very close together or very far, is a relationship of images, symbols, memories. And in that, how can there be real love?![]()
China, image is only a small part of people's perceptions of each other. Someone did a study in Ireland once about the redheads, blondes, and the dark haired ones. Found they were genetically prone to marrying those of similar hair colors and complexions. There's also the sound of voices, the touch of their significant others, etc. as well as things they have in common and personalities.
I think you're saying we love the construct and not the actual other.
Your question is strange to me, "real love" why not ask, how there can be love? How can there be god ? How can there be time? How can there be hate?:love9:
Good point. You look like a nice guy, but ..........A small part, unless it is of a social nature. there have been numerous studies conducted which suggest that we as people tend to look at the surface of the people we meet, and form a perception of these people based on the external image we perceive.

What about that image we see in the mirror, do we see the "real" person, or what we want to see.
I don't think you see the person as much as his physical features .
