The GOP is now showing everyone just how disorganized and disoriented they really are. This is not the mainstream group but rather the fringe who has now gained control. BUT... they have already shot themselves in the foot. On TV, in front of the viewers and they do it repeatedly. These are not debates. they are a free for all and insulting to the dignity of the system.

I got a reddie for wishing America a Democratic future. Okay, I take it back. America does't need democracy.
Obama started with 55 Democrat senators. After the mid-term elections he had 51. They need 60 to avoid filibuster.
Whatever they wished? I think not. :roll: How is it an American gets their own system wrong, and needs a Canadian to correct false statements?
Yes they needed a super majority to avoid a fillibuster.
Just because there is a fillibuster does not mean they were unable to do whatever they wished. They passed Health Care under the conditions you just mentioned. The reason it took so long is because it was publicly unpopular and the Democrats all wanted a little something-something for their constituents.
They also passed massive spending measures with impunity, bail outs, TARP, and the GOP could not do a thing about it.
The Democrats controlled both the Senate and House of Representatives and the Executive Office.
