You are supposed to burn it privately and with due respect if it is worn out.

I see that a lot of people comment on the lack of blue in the flag, but the offical colours of Canada are red and white, as of 1921, so that's why the flag is red and white, no blue.

In Canada, the Flag of the Governor General takes precedence over the Flag of Canada, wherever he or she is in residence. The only flag in Canada which takes a higher precedence than the Flag of the G.G. is the Queen's Flag.

The conductor said:
You go anywhere in the world with our flag and people will know your Canadian. Its kinda sad that most people do not know or forget about Canadian history.

this reminds me of a tale from years ago.

Perhaps some of heard of Americans sewing Canadian flags on their backpacks when travelling abroad? Well, I met a fellow that had the Canadian flag tatooed onto himself because he claimed enough Americans were using the Canadian flag that a tatoo was necessary becuase an American would never tatoo the canadian flag on himself to ease his travels.

:D I'm not a flag waver or wrapper, and don't get all teary eyed when I see it jist a flappin.....but.

We do go on long trips deep into the US South, and it is beautiful country and the folks are some of the most friendly in the world, and the food is fantastic, and the..........well, you get the picture.

But, (again but), when we cross the border coming home, and we see the Candian flag on our side of the border, we kind of let out a collective sigh of relief.......home.

Guess that's what it means to us.........home.
