Oil is a product people WANT to use. Electric cars are a product that people generally DO NOT want to use. Grossly selfish LIE-berals want us to use electric cars for THEIR BENEFIT and they are trying to bully and bribe us into using THEIR PRODUCT!
Grossly selfish LIE-berals want us to massively change AND LIMIT our lifestyle- so they can KEEP their luxuries!

Energy minister doesn't see threat to poor in pre-payment hydro meters

Hydro One customers will be able to opt in or out of a proposed program to “pre-pay” electric bills, Energy Minister Glenn Thibeault insists.
Thibeault also insisted the controversial application by Hydro One – to replace some smart meters with new “pre-paid” meters – won’t target the poor.
(HAHAHAHAHA! Will not target the poor, the imbecile says? Then why bother changing the meters? Unless LIE-berals are really THAT DESPERATE for gravy that they want pre-paid meters so they can collect a few weeks interest on your pre-payments? LIE-berals really need to figure out some long term planning here! Either they ARE going after poor people and those with low credit scores or else their hunt for new gravy is growing so desperate that it gives the lie to their claims of how our economy is “booming”- even as debt soars!)
(In related news- the Cdn economy added over 30,000 jobs- mostly full time in March 2018- too bad that TWO THIRDS of those job were for govt! WE cannot afford the Hogs we have now- how will we pay for MORE? I guess LIE-berals DO need that interest from hydro pre-payments after all?)
“When I talked to Hydro One about this specifically, they said this is about giving people choice,” Thibeault said Thursday.
NDP MPP Peter Tabuns, who raised the issue this week in the Ontario Legislature, suggested the Minister isn’t credible when he says requiring consumers to pre-pay for power won’t focus on the poor.
“I think they’re going to say to people who have a bad credit rating or have arrears, here’s the meter we’re putting in … If you want power, here’s the meter that you’re going to have to have,” Tabuns said.
“I don’t believe there’s going to be any real choice. This is all about protecting Hydro One, this is all about making sure their investors make the most money possible,” he said.
(We do know that hydro shut offs are climbing rapidly as our booming economy “booms” all over ordinary people! Maybe somebody should explain to LIE-berals what “booming” means? And yes- Hydro Hogs ARE DEMANDING their gravy- and its none of our business how much they get- LIE-berals told us so!)

And in fact, on page 2,038 of a 2,076-page application, under the title of “Collection Enhancements,” Hydro One specifically cites the rising number of customers in default as justification for pre-paid meters.
“The cost of electricity in Ontario has been steadily increasing,” Hydro One points out. “This has resulted in a number of customers having difficulty in paying their bills on time.”
The current arrears collection system involves a series of escalating steps, from a reminder phone call to location visits, Hydro One says in the submission to the Ontario Energy Board.
(It seems likely that the pre-paid meter plan may end up being a public relations disaster for LIE-berals- consider the old folks on fixed income struggling with soaring LIE-beral taxes- and one cold night they CANNOT feed the pre-paid meter in time and their electricity shuts down and their pipes freeze! WE all know how slowly civil service Hogs respond to any issue they do not consider to be important to them! I have a neighbour who filled out a 2 page property tax form and it took govt 3 weeks to LOSE half the paperwork- and blame the tax payer!)
(Or the woman who owned a van and had a lien put on it by a Hog fiddling with the computer system! She needed the cash from the van sale for her bills and it was obvious the lien on the van was a FAKE- since it was registered to Pebbles Flintstone in Bedrock Town! Hogs shrugged at the woman`s complaints and suggested she hire a lawyer to sort things out! Just NO CONCERN from Hogs at the costly mess THEY MADE for that woman! Now picture your power going out and your pipes starting to freeze while you argue with some Hog about where your payment was mis-directed!)
“One method of enabling customer control of their electricity consumption, while in arrears condition, and minimizing Hydro One Network’s financial risk, is through the use of pre-paid meters,” the application states.
(Well of course- but another way of limiting arrears is not to tax people so heavily- as LIE-berals do- that they cannot survive! Stupid LIE-berals take all our money and then sneer at us for being poor!)

(Power off! While the pipes FREEZE! At least under the current situation Hogs will not shut off power till spring comes and danger of ruptured pipes is past!)
The application does not specify that it will be voluntary for customers.
(Who WOULD VOLUNTEER for this? There would be no room for error here! Think about being shut off in dead of winter because you forgot to sign your cheque properly or slipped a decimal place? Or think about getting sick and ending up in hospital just before a payment comes due? Or a simple clerical error- such as clerk reversing numbers- $19.00 instead of $91.00- and your power is now off over Christmas holidays- with govt offices CLOSED!)
Thibeault, meanwhile, denied the proposal buried deep in the application was a ‘Trojan Horse’ intended to cut off delinquent customers. And he suggested it’s just a proposal.
“It’s two paragraphs in a rate application that may not even get through the Ontario Energy Board.”
(IN other words it’s a trial balloon that LIE-berals are thinking of- just like their previous trial balloons that involved forcing us to throw away ALL our natural gas appliances and compel us to heat and cook exclusively with electricity- now that LIE-berals have turned our electrical system into a giant slush fund for their pals- AND slammed shut the books so we cannot see what dirt is buried there!)
Thibeault reiterated Hydro One has assured him that the program would be voluntary.
When asked who would voluntarily pay ahead of time for electricity, Thibeault used the example of the owner of a rural hunt camp who might only want to purchase two months of electricity in the year.
(In other words- the minister is dissembling! Owners of rural properties routinely get their power shut off in winter months when the place is not in use- so why re-invent the wheel with pre-paid meters- unless THERE IS a deliberate LIE-beral plan to target the poor?)
There are already programs in place to prevent electricity disconnections in winter and to help people manage their hydro accounts, he said.
“But at the end of the day we are still a long way away from this even being approved,” Thibeault said. “This is just a thought. It’s two paragraphs on a 2,000-page document.”
The OEB is tasked with protecting consumer interests when energy companies, like Hydro One, seek rate increases or changes like a pre-payment meter.
(Oh great- LIE-beral appointees will protect us from LIE-berals? The ONLY THING preventing LIE-berals from moving ahead with this pre-paid meter crap and with their plan to force us off natural gas is fear of voter rage in the June 2018 election!)
The Ontario Liberal government sold off a majority stake in Hydro One, which was previously 100% owned by citizens of the province, but has retained control by remaining the largest single stakeholder.
