If Musk were confident he wouldn't have used a 2 wheel drive F150 with a 2.7L to "challenge" the first time.
It's just another billionaire with his toys. It'll never be a viable industry.

You know anything about the history of automobiles? They faced lots of pushback. Outlawed in many places, harshly restricted in others. The men making 'em were vilified, accused of everything from treason to child molestation.
I'm sure all them folk thought they were successfully suppressing the automobile.
And all those cartwrights and wheelwrights and drovers and carters and liverymen and saddlers and buggy-whip factory workers who will be put out of their jobs!
I would expect much better than that from a decent electric car. In the 5s at least.
The emissions are nothing. The toxic fumes that thing is spewing are deadly in relatively small doses.
The year is 2008. The Big Three go to Washington for billions of dollars in cash bailouts to remain in business.

Get back to me when there is a consistent source or renewable energy, available in all areas and has the necessary upgraded infrastructure to distribute.
... Above is one of the (many) reasons that guys like hoid can't justify the purchase of an EV, and rightfully so
Funny that he points to seat belts and unleaded gas (implying that he gladly adopted both), yet he's the one that absolutely refuses to get a tesla.
He also forgot to mention that the switch to unleaded caused many problems with the vehicles at the time until they were switched out to newer models.
