The government there has been dealing with terrorist attacks south of Manila for a while now. They might be related. They were having problems in Marawi on Mindinao. Marawi is a majority Muslim city.

Still no one reported dead. Just injuries and damage. If this is related to what has been going on in Mawari, it's going to make things harder for government troops to cope.

It's good that it was not a terrorist attack. Some sources were reporting it as such earlier. I see that they have been changed.

(CNN)Thirty-five people have been killed in a Manila casino, following an attack in the early hours of Friday morning by a lone gunman who fired shots from an assault rifle and set fire to gambling tables.

An earlier report from Philippines police misstated the death toll as 36.

The victims, who did not appear to have been shot, are thought to have died of suffocation, Southern Police District Director Superintendent Tomas Apolinario said Friday. "Most of the victims were women who were found dead inside the bathroom," he added.

My guess is they went there to hide. We'll never know the actual reason, but they probably took off in the opposite direction of all the commotion.

The gunman dumped a load of bullets on a table then dumped gas over them & set it alight-bullets began whizzing everywhichwhere and people panicked/ran to hide instead of heading to the exits-the fires started by the gunman poisoned the air and people died in hiding.
