Ted Kennedy has malignant brain tumour
U.S. Sen. Edward Kennedy, who was hospitalized Saturday after suffering a seizure, has a malignant brain tumour, his doctors have confirmed.
Reuters is reporting Kennedy will require chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
Earlier this winter, he endorsed the candidacy of Barack Obama, the junior senator from Illinois, to become the Democratic party's presidential nominee.
'Ted' Kennedy is the younger brother of John F. Kennedy, who became the U.S.'s president after winning the 1960 election but was assassinated in November 1963.
In 1964, a plane crash left him with severe injuries and killed an aide.
Another brother, Robert F. Kennedy, ran for the Democratic nomination in 1968 but was assassinated.
Kennedy delivered the eulogy at his brother's funeral.
Joseph, Kennedy's eldest brother (he was one of nine children), died in an airplane crash during the Second World War.
Kennedy sought his party's presidential nomination in 1980, running against sitting U.S. President Jimmy Carter, but his candidacy was tainted in part by the 1971 Chappaquiddick incident.
He drove a car off a bridge between Chappaquiddick and Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts. Kennedy escaped, but campaign worker Mary Jo Kopechne drowned.
Kennedy later pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident.

That family sure had its tragedies! Especially the assassination of John Fitzgerald, the president, was a shock to the world! I read a book and am convinced it wasn't Lee Oswald who did it!
Ted is only 76 years old!
