Good for Ted Cruz, for endorsing Donald Trump (finally). I'm glad someone can put the good of the country over his own injured pride. Cruz's most pressing issue has been USSC nominations.

In my ranking of issues for the American Election.. nominations to Supreme Court rank number 2, only behind Trade. The next POTUS could nominate 4 or 5 justices to the Court. Trump's prospective list of nominees has been lauded by judicial scholars, faith groups, those supporting traditional moral values and a coherent social structure.

Clinton would continue the recent Democratic history of appointing radical feminist and homosexual ideologues, deeply antagonistic to the Christian origins of American and Western Civilization.

That will entrench abortion, euthenasia, homosexuality, promiscuity, disintegration of the institution of marriage, drug legalization and a myriad of other disassembling factors into the already fragmenting American cultural mosaic.

Cruz at least realizes Hillary Clinton is an agent of chaos and destruction to America.. and only Trump offers some semblance of hope for the future.

But then it seems Cruz had no choice. It was either his wife and his word, or his Senate seat'..........

Ted Cruz set aside his many differences with Donald Trump on Friday to endorse for president a man whom he once called a “serial philanderer,” a “pathological liar,” “utterly amoral,” and a “sniveling coward”; who insulted his wife’s looks; who insinuated Cruz’s father was involved in the assassination of John F. Kennedy; who said he wouldn’t even accept his endorsement; and who for months mocked him mercilessly with a schoolyard taunt, “Lyin’ Ted.”

Glenn Beck on Friday voiced sorrow over Cruz's endorsement of Trump.

“[This is] a profoundly sad day for me,” he wrote. "Disappointment does not begin to describe.

Maybe it is time to go to the mountains for a while,” the conservative commentator added. "Again, disappointment doesn’t even begin to describe my feelings.”

Beck, who supported Cruz over Trump in the GOP’s presidential primaries, added he fears for the nation’s future.

It's obviously a slow news day when Lyin' Ted is the biggest thing on a Canadian website. :) :)

Ralph Nader is calling on Senator Bernie Sanders to introduce a Senate single payer bill before debating Senator Ted Cruz on CNN Tuesday.

“I hear that you will be debating Senator Ted Cruz next Tuesday on CNN in prime time where you will seek to defend Obamacare against Republican assault,” Nader wrote to Sanders in a letter dated February 3, 2017.

“You have said in the past that ‘I don’t believe in Obamacare’ and that Obamacare is ‘a good Republican program.’ So, I’m not sure why you continue to defend it.”

“As you know, under Obamacare, tens of millions remain uninsured or underinsured.”

“Deductibles are expanding and networks are narrowing – not to mention numbing complexities, higher co-pays and higher premiums.”

“In 2013, you introduced a single payer bill in the Senate (S. 1782) – with no co-sponsors.”

“Throughout the 2016 campaign, you powerfully made the case all over the country before massive audiences for a more efficient single payer Medicare for All – without deductibles, co-pays, premiums – plus free choice of doctor and hospital.”

“But you have reportedly decided not to introduce or push for single payer in the Congress this year.”

“Your health policy adviser has privately told some single payer activists you will not introduce a single payer bill into the Senate this year because the Democratic leadership believes that such a bill will get in the way of electing a Democratic Senate in 2018.”

“Even without the Democratic Party or the labor unions making a major public educational push, a December 2015 national Kaiser public opinion poll found that 58 percent of adults in the US supported single payer – including 81 percent of Democrats, 60 percent of Independents, and 30 percent of Republicans.”

“I urge you to drop your defensive stance and introduce the equivalent of HR 676 – the gold standard single payer bill in the House of Representatives (with 56 co-sponsors so far) – into the Senate this week and come out swinging for the bill next week.”
“How many of your millions of supporters would not want you to do this?” Nader asked.

Jake Tapper and chief political correspondent Dana Bash will moderate a Town Hall Debate between Sanders and Cruz on the future of Obamacare at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, February 7. The 90-minute event will be held at George Washington University in Washington, D.C.

Ted Cruz introduces "EL CHAPO Act" to pay for the wall

Senator Ted Cruz wants to use assets seized from drug lords such as El Chapo, the Mexican kingpin who was recently extradited to the U.S., to pay for border security and the border wall.

  • The idea: U.S. prosecutors are seeking $14 billion in drug profits and other assets from El Chapo. They also routinely seize the assets of other drug dealers and traffickers.
  • The Cruz quote: "Fourteen billion dollars will go a long way toward building a wall that will keep Americans safe and hinder the illegal flow of drugs, weapons, and individuals across our southern border."
  • The acronym's meaning: Ensuring Lawful Collection of Hidden Assets to Provide Order
  • Why it matters: President Trump is trying to figure out how to pay for his border wall, which will require American taxpayers to pay up for the bill. This could be a way around that issue.

U.S. Senator Ted Cruz improperly accounted for loans he received from Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and Citigroup Inc. during his 2012 campaign, saying the funds were his own personal contributions to the Senate race, the Federal Election Commission said Thursday.

The finding, released on the FEC website, marked a rare instance of agreement among the agency’s five commissioners, who voted unanimously that the $1.1 million of loans from the banks should have been disclosed to voters.
