She wants to carry a gun to protect herself from her ex.
Gee, I wonder what grade he's in?

Again, another joke!

She has a concealed carry permit.

Stick the gat in yer purse and shut up.

Don't ask. Don't tell.

Sociopath pulls out an Uzi with intent to off as many as possible, put one in his/her heart. Then you're a hero/ine. Methinks the school would be happy then. BUT, if you're dumb enough to ASK, fuggedaboudit.

this isn't the first time her issue has hit our little forum.

Personally, if your ex is so unstable that you need to worry about him coming to kill you at work, perhaps you shouldn't be standing in room full of defenseless children in the first place, as unfair as that may seem. Find a different job, one where you CAN protect yourself, and aren't posing a danger to a class full of kids.

That is quite unfair. You shouldn't need to quit your job because you decide to divorce your hubby and he doesn't take it that well.

I think a side effect of this ruling is that now the school is 100% behind the 8-ball for protecting her at work. If they fail, they will likely be found liable for any harm that comes to her.

I'm with Nuggler. If Virginia Tech had NOT banned Concealed Carry permit holders from carrying on campus, a number of people would still be alive.........

I understand what you're saying Colpy but have some reservations about the folk I share the range with now never mind someone like ....Teacherator....
If we could impart greater skill and common sense among folk regarding firearms, I'd have no difficulty but as long as there's kids like the one in Finland or Columbine or Taber or Virginia Tech ....
