Doug Ford’s daughter is opening up her own storefront bakery in July.
Kyla Ford has found success with her online bakeshop, KyKy Kookies, which is based on her nickname, and figured she’d go a step further and see what she can do with old-fashioned, brick and mortar.
Since 2018, she’s been selling the giant kookies – which, according to her website, are about “four times the size of an average cookie” with each one weighing over six ounces.

There are also vegan options, and if her website’s logo isn’t lying, KyKy’s storefront location will also feature ice cream.
Ford explains how her passion for baked goods came about: “a hobby to try and perfect the BEST cookie.” After many test batches, she came up with the “kookie.”
It’s described as “crispy on the outside, soft and gooey on the inside, with a variety of unique flavours, various delicious mix-ins throughout, and stuffed with handmade fillings.”

“When you are enjoying your Kookies, you are not only supporting a female-owned, small business based out of Ontario, Canada, you are also supporting a number of other Ontario-owned businesses.”
KyKy’s kookies start at $5 each. A box of a half dozen of their signature flavours is $33, while an assorted dozen costs $72.
The store will be located at 195 Norseman St. in Etobicoke and is set to open in a few weeks.
