So becoming a citizen of this country is not important enough to show your face, less important than getting a driver's license.
If someone needs a passport to get into this country...photograph and everything isn't it important to make sure that the right person is becoming a citizen...?
Or did that bump on the head prevents you from logical thinking?

None of what you've said contradicts the logic of my position.

There's no misogyny in letting someone speak with a thin piece of fabric on their face in a setting where there is no identity or security requirement.
And yet another point sails right over your head. Are you really that stupid or are you just being intentionally obtuse?

OTTAWA - A Federal Court of Appeal panel has dismissed a government appeal over a ban on face coverings at citizenship ceremonies.

The three justices ruled from the bench, saying they wanted to proceed quickly so that Zunera Ishaq, the woman who initially challenged the ban, can obtain her citizenship in time to vote in the Oct. 19 federal election.

Ishaq, a 29-year-old woman with devout Muslim beliefs who came to Ontario from Pakistan in 2008, refused to take part in a citizenship ceremony because she would have to show her face.

The Harper government's rule banning face coverings at such ceremonies was earlier found unlawful by the Federal Court.

Justice Department lawyer Peter Southey argued unsuccessfully that the lower court justice made errors in his original decision to overturn the ban.

Appeal Justice Mary Gleason said the court say no reason to interfere with earlier ruling

The ban on face coverings sparked a bitter debate in the House of Commons when it was first announced.

The wearing of a niqab during a citizenship ceremony is legal and has always been. It was only when then Immigration Minister Kenny
wrote a memo stating that it would no longer be allowed that the controversy started . The court ruled that the Minister did not have the right to change the law without going through Parliament. That's why the Conservatives introduced a bill outlawing this on the last day and promise to do again if elected.(Then the Charter will cancel it) All the arguments that the Conservatives put forward are masking what they tried to do.

you're talking emotions not the law. The Courts just told the Conservative Government that they had to follow the law. I know that's a difficult thing for the Conservatives to do.
