What's wrong with a white poppy? Not Canadian enough for you?
What would be your feelings if a neo-nazi group adopted the fleur de lis as their symbol?

A normal thicker push pin replacing the "tire iron" style and cut to a shorter length will allow the use of one of those squeeze clasps on the back quite nicely.

We've had our present poppy's since they arrived at the local legion. On November 11th, we will do as we have done for years. Take the poppy's, replace the pin with the original, pin it to the note of thanks from my family that is attached to the small wreath we place at the local cenotaph. One of the problems might be that it is counter productive for people to have a poppy
that they can wear again the next year. They want you to buy a new one next year.

No it is about some group with their own agenda trying to piggy back it on Remembrance day.

Next year we'll all get another, and make another donation.
Fair enough... But just look at the title of this thread and it's easy to see how many can have a selective view on the issue.
So not all of Canadians express their memory of the past in what you consider an ''appropriate'' Canadian way... Tough life isn't it?
How about fighting for freedom at large and not only Canada?!!!
As if only Canada represented what was fought for in the 20th century major wars. Do you think Quebec doesn't represent those values?
