Ugh. I would much rather see something besides combustibles as a fuel source. Like solar energy, wind, even nuclear.

So would I, but for now the powertrain of choice is still based on chemical energy. In a few years time maybe electric vehicles will start gaining market penetration. Then totally, thin film solar, concentrated solar power, nuclear (thorium would be great). But some things will require the energy from breaking chemical bonds for a while, like air travel and shipping.

Um, Electrohauls in the last mine I visited were moving hundreds of tons of payload. Rails are a great way to apply magnetics to. Most locomotives are electrically driven now but rely on diesel for the generators. But, I admit, I cannot see a feasible way for air planes to be hooked up with extension cords or riding on magnetic fields.

Stephen Hawkings is coming to Waterloo..ont!...That's awesome!!!...WWWWOOOOOOOOOOOWWHHOOooo!!!...Welcome Mr.Hawkings ..Read all your stuff. I am a Big Fan!!.Can't say I totally understand it all..But I get the Idea and it's AMAAAZZINNGGG!!...Great History of science books!!.Black hole stuff.kicks ASS!..lol.So many incredible contributions to science..He is a brillant ..exceptional man!...We Universal explorers/ Earthlings/ Americans/Canadians./Ontarians/ Wellington county /kitchener /waterloo/people(I think you get the point)lol...We all welcome you here!!...I don't care... I am speaking for everyone!...This is a tremendous honour..!

..Outta the void and into the light!...Can't avoid the light. No matter how hard some may try!!..Gotta Think positive ..lol..He is a great man.!With a great mind!.We are lucky to have him !.

Is Dark energy Recyclable.?.Perhaps dark energy get's sucked into the voidness of a black hole and is reused to make new energy/matter/Gravity?...Could a Black hole be a star making machine???...Or even bigger...a Universe making machine set into motion by A Master Unit with a "Big Bang"!!..Maybe it's not so bad in the Big black hole!!!,,Maybe it's a Dark energy trash collector!!HHHMMMMMM...lol

Stephen Hawkings can shed light on questions such as these!!

,,This is great news!!!...

Not that easy for container ships either. The more batteries you have the less payload you have room for. The ships are already freaking behemoths.

That was my point though. Even assuming great breakthroughs and market penetration, we'll still need conventional or alternative "conventional" fuels
