Reverend Blair said:There is nothing in the Conservative record that would suggest that they take deficits and debt seriously though, Jay. To them it is just a political ploy...a promise that may or may not be met, depending on their political needs.
We've seen that ever since the age of Reagan and Mulroney. To fulfill their promises to business they are forced to cut programs to the people and/or run deficits. It is a race to the bottom that brutalises the poor and disadvantaged, marginalises the middle class over time, and leads to the erosion of infrastructure.
In short it doesn't work. We've been watching it not work for a quarter of a century now.
marginalises the middle class over time
I don't know about you but my taxes have been depleted by the Liberals for too damn long already.
And don't even think about bringing the NDP into this cause they would just waste a hell of a lot more.

The Liberals gave you the biggest tax cut in Canadian history. It went disproportionately to the rich and to corporations, because the Martin Liberals are really corporatists from the right of the political spectrum, but it was them who gave you that cut.

Why not? They gave me a tax cut here. Filmon never did that.

Its Canada first, the resources may be in diferent provinces (obviously) but they belong to the people of Canada, not just certain people. Some of these provinces (Alberta for starters) just act like spoiled children..........

I don't think you understand the difference between provincial and federal.
Either way NDP would suck at both, look what they did to Ontario.
Ontario's recourses belong to Ontario.
If certain provinces want rights to our recourses, they can join Ontario.
Why not?
Although I was trying to use humour....it does all boil down to taxes, and those taxes go to prop up certain provinces, and I doubt it's fair for Ontario to dish out 23 billion, while Manitoba hands out tax cuts and receives transfer payments…Ontario could really use the money right now.
