It doesn't matter to me what minor faults Stephane Dion might have, he's the most important political figure in Canada now.

Mr. Slithers(Harper) is a born-again fascist and if he ever gets his majority government it'll mean the end of Canada as we know it. Apparently not something that would upset many here at Lack of Canadian Content.

We need someone to kick Mr. Slithers in his Nazi gonads every time he takes an endrun at our constitution and Dion is the man for the job.

Once again it's left up to a Liberal to save Canada, so I say lace up the steel-toes Stephane, all free-thinking Canadians are behind you.

I think that its pretty safe to say that the most important political figure in Canada is the Prime Minister, since he is, you know, the Prime Minister, and Steph, Minister of the Environment as Greenhouse Gasses Rose and Citizen of France, is not.

Unless you're blinded by hatred, of course.

Give him time, I'm sure he's going to find more than enough issues to boot the conservatives out of power. Harpers' mandate is built on a house of cards, the only reason he got into power was anger at the Liberals. There's not enough of that left to keep him in power for much longer and he's pissed off enough people with his dictatorial approach to government that voters aren't going to give him another mandate.

Don't balme the Liberals for the conservatives misfortune, you were stupid enough to put a complete dick in charge of your party.

Could we get an example of what makes him a complete dick?

Once again, when the feeble=minded are backed in a corner they bring up the NAZI's.The dreaded National SOCIALIST Party of Germany. Next Harper and those with more than a single-digit I.Q. will be called racists.I work with a loud Liberal who always brings up nazis and racists whenever his arguments are torn apart.I politely asked him if he would like to meet for a beer and maybe call me a nazi or a racist then. He declined. As much gonads as brains, quite similar to yourself I'm sure.

Hey, I call them as I see them.

This is a man who quit the Mulroney conservatives because they weren't right-wing enough. This a fellow who doesn't feel he needs to consult anyone when he makes major changes that effect most Canadians. Whether it's removing funding for women equality programs, using heavy handed tactics to force the lumber industry and the wheat board to conform to his wishes. Someone who's taken a page from the Bush White House and is muzzling the press and bringing the political debate to it's lowest level in years.

If you can go on and on about the supposed faults of Dion who's just appeared on the scene then I can present my opinion. Or maybe this forum is just for one side of the debate.

If so, change the name to the Conservative Canadian Content forum or shut the **** up.

Nasty, nasty. Major changes? Women's equality.please name me one company in this country that pays a woman less than a man for the same work? The lumber industry was overwhelmingly in favour of the deal. Unfortunately the cbc only aired the few who were against. The wheat board is going to a vote. If it is such a good thing then why do the farmers have to be forced to use it ? Muzzling the press? How? A page from Bush? Sure, same old ,same old, Nazi, racist, bush clone.... How about if I give you a good porn link and then when mommy goes to sleep ,you can sneak into the basement and do something different with your hands rather than pretending you are an adult?

You cannot be objective Cobalt_Kid.

I agree 100% with Toro, you are blinded with hatred.

The way you right your posts with so much anger and hate doesn't ad to your point.

Its a lesson of life, if you debate in angry and hateful way your not going to get any respect.

I dislike the Liberals, but I haven't gone to the lengths you have of putting so much hatred (which you nicely sensor for us).

A man blinded by hatred, cannot be respected by either side.

Lets ask you this: Do you see any mistakes or problems with the Liberal Party since Chretien till now? Perfect? Flawless?

Do you ignore the sponsership scandal?
Do you ignore the corruption?

Harper has been in power ONE YEAR. He is not perfect, I admit that, as a blue-tory! He jumps the boat on being "green" now that its the fad. He went back on an election promise, he should not have promised (income trusts).

But he has done good things in his 1 year of minority government.

He reduced the GST by 1% very fastly.
He got a child care program up of $1200 / year, $100 / month, so lower-class single mothers (and people of all situations of that matter), can afford for quality care for their children, and work and support their family.
He attempted a clean air act, realize his errors, replaced the minister, and is realizing his mistakes on this error, and is trying to correct it.
He kept his promise during elections, to allow a vote to debate Same Sex Marriage.. didn't pass, but he kept that, one of the reasons I voted for Harper so this could be debated again.
He is trying to bring accountibility to the government after the Sponsership Scandal that rocked this nation
He is trying to reform our judicial and punishment for criminals, disagree or not, he is trying to change the current. And by making more mandatory sentences, and giving more rightful objectional justice to both sides, the criminal AND the victim.

I am very happy with the Harper government, he is not God, he is not perfect, but he is sure a hell of a lot better then what we had under decade + rein of Liberal powerhouse.

Oh, and Toro, CDNbear, L Gilbert, wallyj, anyone feel free to add to this lists of accomplishments by Harper. To put this into perspective of colbart_kid's claims.

Whatever.

As always we'll see how it comes down in the next election. I'm betting on the Liberals because I think they represent Canadian values more than the conservatives.

The only hope in hell Harper has for his majority is if he does like that fascist atlanticaparty says and abolishs Parliment...LOL

hey westmanguy aren't you the one who was apoligizing for attacking natives...and after all they've been through. And you have the nerve to accuse me of hatred. Typical conservative.

You guys are great at the devious mind games and twisting people words, but you'll still lose because you lack passion. For all your B.S. you'd rather be something else than Canadian and that's a shame.

This is such a wonderful country, too bad you can't see it for what it is...especially our native tradition. What's going on in Caladonia is a national shame and an indication of more to come if Harper gets his majority.

hey Cobalt_Kid, aren't you the one who takes off-issue topics and throws them into a discssion to make the other look bad. Especially when that person realized their problem, realizes they are not perfect, apologized, and is trying to change. Typical Liberal.

We take your comments and debate them.. you ignore multiple points by YOU twisting the issues and the topic to make your points look as if they are superior. What a shame you throw these off-topic issues, for a lack of a reason to debate the points made by others. What a shame that is.

Agreed, wonderful country, not perfect, but a world standard. Once again to bad you try to sneakily insert another off-topic issue to make you look superior. Whoa! another off-topic issue, you throw in to make your ideology look better.

Overall, how typically Liberal of you.

You guys see this getting dirty now right? lol

Struck a nerve did I.

I think we both know what kind of person it takes to kick a people who are already down about as far as they can go. There's no bigger coward than a bully and that applies to your leader who's hiding in the PMO.

See you jerks in the polls.

I am speachless... so speachless...

I am so shocked by the attitude and behavior of this poster... I can't bring myself to respond.

I guess all Canadians will voice themselves in the polls...

Also, once again you ignored my thoughts and points, about you bring backhanded off-topic issues, into your debate to make you look better.

Seems like a weak response to me.

Cobalt,it is nice doing the private message thing with you. I feel that I know you much better. I will try to answer your questions. 1. Yes,since Mulroney's days.2. I have met Harper,Day,Dion,Martin and numerous other lesser lights. 3.The liberals would have to change considerably,NDP,not bloody likely.4, Yes,yes, women are great. I highly recommend that you try one. 5. No,maybe right after I vote NDP.heh.heh.(not that there's anything wrong with it).6. No on that one too,but have your mum pick up a drug called "Desmopressin" it may help you. Take care and have a good night's sleep.

GROW UP!

First of all, it would be very nice if you attempted to behave better than a six-month old puppy that needs to be spanked with a newspaper. If you are capable, you know, I mean if you don't have behavioral problems.........

Second of all, Mr. Dion has some serious problems as a contender for the PM's chair, such as
1. He doesn't speak English very well when caught off guard.
2. He was a cabinet minister in the most corrupt gov't in Canadian history.
3. He often looks very much like a deer caught in the headlights.
4. He is simply too left-wing for most Canadians outside Quebec.
5. For all his Kyoto talk, he did DICK in gov't to meet targets.
6. He has NOT drawn the Liberal Party together.
7. He has NOT done anything to repair the Liberal party's corruption, in fact:
8. He spoke favourably about re-instatement in the Party of those ejected after ADSCAM

Thirdly, name-calling requires only the psychology of a three year old, an age I suspect you are not that far away from.

Fouth.....yes, the end of Canada as we know it, the end of Canada as a do-nothing, self righteous harridan , all mouth no action. The end of Canada's slip into obscurity on the world stage. The end of Canada's mistreatment of those who serve in the military. The end of Canada's unthinking, slavish obeisance to the idiots at the UN. And on and on. Once again a nation to be proud of.

The Liberals have done everything in their power to emasculate Canada as a nation, to damage us internationally, to appease our enemies, and to insult our friends.

May they rot in the political wilderness for a decade.

Hey Colpy, nice to see ya!!

Thanks for the bit of sanity after those rants and raves....

As well stated, Mr. Dion is not fairing that well with not much happening. He has given his opposition lots of fuel to show the real Dion during the next election. I for one am not fond of attack ad's but if they are true, they tend to work...

While Harper has brought out 9/11 survivors to plead for Terrorist laws, Mr. Dion says no more than "we didn't us them so we don't need them" Try using that logic of ..lets say fire insurance.... a whipped vote for the liberals still had 12 members stay away and one defy him..not very much "coming together" going on there...

Good or bad right or wrong, the Harper government has not stumbled on any file, making them look very competent...A feature that has been laking in Gov. for many years. While in fighting with the Liberals continues on it's merry way as that a scream "we are the rightful rulers of Canada" sounding a bit like Sadam during his trails!!
