I'm too practical to enjoy such silliness. Mr. Spock? Vulcans? Wookies? Please, grow up gentlemen:)

are you going to subject everyone to more of your insults and name-calling because they don't like your choice of television programmes?

Who start the insult? Who need to grow up?

Now if you want to forget this little "problem" can we continue?

Both of these world hide women controlling much more the world than they say or thought.

Also, i said in a far future, so how this is unrealistic?
What is your view of the world in 2000 years?

What is your view in 2000 years?
Maybe you know an other sci-fiction movie that represent better your view of the future of our culture?

I edited my first post. I forgot to say, forget the force and multi species.
I was more talking about the culture and style of life.

Ahh, I see. It's kinda hard to ignore the force part about Star Wars. The whole battle between good and evil is kinda wrapped up in the force.

I do like Star trek better, more focus on things like exploring and problem solving. It's funny because I hated it as a kid, my father watched it all the time. Now as an adult I like the shows.

interestingly star wars was more realistic in that many of the alien species weren't humanoid, and didnt speak english. that always upset me a bit in star trek, that everyone could communicate almost instantly, unles sit was part of the plot of that episode, in which case suddenly there was a language problem

I was more speaking about the culture of both movies.

One appear to be base on personal achievement, star trek.
And the other one appear to be base on the Americans system, total freedom, star wars.

I think not

The Evil Empire
The only monarchy I could ever accept.

The Borg Queen.

I also kinda like how Star Trek incorporates elements of todays society into the show. Like looking back from the shows perspective on what humanity was like before the enlightenment of different socieites throughout space.

the thing about star trek is culturally and politically it's more actually likely. star wars is wrong to make you think that if u blow up some evil guys then the universe will then be good. at least with start trek it's clear that the federation contains its own evils as well as competitive empires etc etc etc.

I think the star wars culture represent well the current U.S culture.
And the star trek culture represent much more a socialist-communist society.

To have a close look at star wars culture, i think we can look at the FITH element culture. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119116/

star trek doesnt represent a socialist society i think. remember we usually see the shows through the eyes of those serving the federation, essentially a military group, taking orders from superiors and such. yet in DS9 there are the ferengi, who are deeply capitalistic, and back on earth, though we're never really shown it, i'm sure life goes on as normal, with flying cars :)

I'm not sure if the new star trek have change. Because i never watched the tv-episode, only the movies.

But from the movies, i know there IS NO MONEY in their society. Its been said a couple of time in movies.

How a society with no money can be capitalism? Or even socialist is impossible...
