There is also the aliens movies that show well a capitalism culture...
Than again, forget the monster...

Maybe alien society is more realistic than star wars?

No doubt, some Hollywood movie maker are pure genius. :headbang:

Newfoundland!
How you want Canada to be in a far away future?

A world like Star Trek or a world like Star wars?
You can forget the force thing and the multi species of Star wars and keep the rest.
We are also speaking about the human society of star-trek.

i just realised this poll was totally uneccessary. just consider which medium u r using.

just joking about man. just having a laugh at the thought of asking any computer-literate person whether they preferred star wars or star trek. the answer on average will be an overwhelming "live long and prosper"

I remember a comedy show once said the words "live long and perspire" i still find that funny now

it's possible to be both practical and silly. for instance i'm a research chemist AND training to be a clown.

Sorry i don't understand the question.

In my opinion,

The role of Government ( ie. elected officials ) is the initiation of programs that meet the needs of the Country, creating stability and certainty for the Public so that they may pursue their lives with the confidence that Government is looking out for their interests, locally, regionally and Nationally...

The Role of Public Service to be to administer the programs set down by Government and to create dialogue with the Public and report back on the results of programs, along with compiling info about their area....

The objective being the personal development of each citizen...Achievements from this process should inspire....

Star Wars and its cowboy image as a system will not get you there....It appeals to emotion...

Government in the future will be a hybrid and efforts should be made at this time not to "Classify" it..
We can make up new words as we go along...

As an aside, our current Government, for whatever reason, is cutting spending to the Public Service
and the Public Service is finding it harder and harder to operate in the current environment...

Sound like someone's trying to create the circumstances to destroy Trust in this Country.....:smilebox:

I f you consider when the original Star Trek was on,during the cold war, than you can see how relevant the series
was,the name of the ship was the Enterprise symbolic of democracy and the free market and the main enemies
were the Klingons (Russians) and the Romulans(Chinese). The allies were the Vulcans, close relatives of the Romulans, which would make the Vulcans either the Japanese or Taiwanese so politically it was very realistic.

I'm all for Star Destroyers, wookies, planet killing Death Stars, four legged war walkers, force using mofo's and rusty old «last decade» cargo ships that runs the kessel run in four parceks.

I'm currently working on my force usage so I can later change my name to Darth Roboto

Seriously, its the Space Fantasy thing that got me to love Star Wars. I don't really like when some android says to the captain that the only way to get trough a given situation, is to polarize the invert thrust on the protonic engines by bypassing the energy base from the molecular splitters...did that make any sense?

I LOVE star wars. Mind you, I grew up with a father who was a bit of a fanatic, so it kinda stuck on me. The first movies were good, the newer ones had a crap story. I really haven't watched much Star Trek to be a judge of it.

My favorite is Star Trek - the Next Generation. I just love Lieutenant Worf :)
They don't show it in Russia, though, so I keep asking my mother to send me some DVDs. :)

Star Wars wasn't even scifi, it was fantasy. Sta trek was bad scifi. Dune, Stargate (not the idiotic tv series), 2001/2010, Alien, Predator, etc. were so far past the two mentioned it's ridiculous. DS9 wasn't bad. I even like the new Dr. Who. The old one kept me in stitches.
