I'm pretty sure the UK would have already split if it was going to happen (allowed to). It will end up like Scotland wanting to bail and that was never going to happen. When the Queen says, 'It would be Bad' is not any different when the head of the KKK says, 'peaceful protest, . . or else'.
The South had slaves, the North had Company Towns, there is no difference. Perhaps the Slaves actually had it better as the Boss was in the field every day also. A wheat farmer never makes it to the Palace to have the Queen congratulate him for his service.
Wonder if there is some regret in having started this......

It was also a political "gamble".....as I recall.

Yup. I don't think Cameron expected the Leave side to 'win,' thus the poorly-worded referendum. they didn't think wording it carefully to cover the event of a leave vote mattered, so confident as they were.

Cameron and Osborne, Carney, Juncker, Obama, Lagarde and much of the rest of the global establishment thought the British people would meekly do as they were told. Thankfully, they were very much mistaken. The British people told them that they are our servants, not vice versa.

You mean ... you're all stupid and don't listen to good sense?

I'm not against Brexit per se. Had I written the referendum question, option two would have been unilateral global free trade within seventy years. This would have allowed the UK to negotiate successive agreements with the EU to gradually untangle itself from it over time. You don't untangle yourself from something like the EU overnight.

Had the qeustion been so worded, I would have probably hesitatingly voted option two figuring that we would have another referendum of sorts on it every four years anyway should it turn out that the decision was wrong as we gradually untangle ourselves.

As it was actually worded, I most certainly would have voted Remain.

You mean ... you're all stupid and don't listen to good sense?

'All?' They didn't all vote to leave with no idea what they would replace it with?

How are the negotiations going?

Well the negotiations have been going badly, thanks partly to deliberate ineptitude on the part of the Remainers who don't want Britain to succeed and the actions of the arrogant Michel Barnier and the EU.

Not that we need to negotiate anything, of course. Britain should have pulled out of the EU on 24th June 2014. The negotiations are a waste of time.

So you would actually have support cutting ties with the EU cold turkey just like that with no transition period? Are you serious?

Yep. What's the problem? Britain should have quit the EU two years ago, as we voted, instead of all this pointless faffing around which will likely end in No Deal anyway.

Do you understand the complexities of business planning?

What's been the point of these negotiations, which haven't really been negotiations at all but just a series of demands by the EUSSR? It's just been two years wasted.

So you don't mind economic chaos for your fellow citizens? How patriotic of you.
