Third rock from the Sun
South Africa is a ****ed up mess...

Whites in south africa need to reach out more to the black communities

Blacks need to stop running non-blacks out of their countries (Uganda for example)

You want stats? Here you are. I never make a post without checking my facts first.
The first one is counting the murders of white farmers in SA.
White farmers 'being wiped out' - Times Online

The second is the world's murder rate. South Africa is number 2.
Murders (per capita) statistics - countries compared - NationMaster

As for the inequity of wealth in South Africa I suggest you read Naomi Klein's Shock Doctrine. It has an entire chapter detailing how white South Africans managed to hand over power to black South Africans and still keep economic control for themselves.

I see from your last comment that you advocate giving the blacks nothing as a possible cure for the nation's ills. Somehow I suspect that won't work very well, as your original post indicated.
I couldn't see the first link; it gave me an error message. Concerning the Nationmaster stats I found this underneath the list of countries
SOURCE: Seventh United Nations Survey of Crime Trends and Operations of Criminal Justice Systems, covering the period 1998 - 2000 (United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, Centre for International Crime Prevention)

Found a working link to the Times article:
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/africa/article7078730.ece

It says over 3000 have been murdered actually.

I think you are wrong about there being nothing left in SA. It is the wealthiest African nation in GNP and is the most industrialized. It also has huge mineral and agricultural resources. The problem in SA is that even though the blacks now run the country in terms of votes, they have been largely left out of the economic pie. That sort of inequality usually creates a tendency toward violence.

South Africa appeals for calm after white supremacist leader killed

April 04, 2010
Michelle Faul

VENTERSDORP, SOUTH AFRICA—A top member of a South African white supremacist group said the slaying of their leader was “a declaration of war” by blacks against whites, as the president appealed for calm amid growing racial tensions in the once white-led country.
Andre Visagie of the Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging movement, better known as the AWB, said the group would also urge soccer teams to avoid the upcoming World Cup tournament in South Africa out of safety concerns. He said the group would avenge Saturday’s killing of Eugene Terreblanche, but did not give details.
“The death of Mr. Terreblanche is a declaration of war by the black community of South Africa to the white community that has been killed for ten years on end,” Visagie said. He echoed other members of the group in blaming a fiery youth leader for spreading hate speech that he believes led to his killing.
The ruling African National Congress disputed Visagie’s statement.
“The black community has never declared war on any other nationality in South Africa,” ANC spokesman Jackson Mthembu told The Associated Press. “It is in fact incorrect and these are sentiments that fuel polarization of the South African populace.”
President Jacob Zuma appealed for calm following “this terrible deed.” In a statement, he asked “South Africans not to allow agents provocateurs to take advantage of this situation by inciting or fuelling racial hatred.”
Terreblanche’s violent death — police said he was bludgeoned to death by two of his farm workers in an apparent wage dispute — also heightened the din around an ongoing controversy over ANC Youth Leader Julius Malema’s performance last month of an apartheid-era song that advocates killing white farmers.
Malema on Sunday denied responsibility, during an official visit to neighbouring Zimbabwe.
“ANC will respond to that issue,” he said “On a personal capacity, I’m not going to respond to what people are saying. I’m in Zimbabwe now, I’m not linked to this.”
Terreblanche’s killing also comes amid growing disenchantment among blacks for whom the right to vote has not translated into jobs and better housing and education.
Some consider themselves betrayed by leaders governing the richest country on the continent and pursuing a policy of black empowerment that has made millionaires of a tiny black elite while millions remain trapped in poverty, even as whites continue to enjoy a privileged lifestyle.
But an unknown number of white farmers have been killed since the end of apartheid in 1994, many of them in land disputes. Some critics blame the government’s badly organized land reform program and allege that corruption is a problem. Police Minister Nathi Mthethwa appealed for calm and asked the public to not make assumptions about the crime.
“We call on all South Africans, across whatever divide ... to desist from making any inflammatory statements which are not going to help in any way on the case we are dealing with,” said Mthethwa, who visited the crime scene. “Nobody should obstruct us by what he or she says pertaining to this case. We want to get to the bottom of this case and we want nobody to obstruct the police in getting justice.”
Relatives and friends of Terreblanche gathered near his homestead Sunday morning to pay their respects.
The opposition Democratic Alliance party blamed increasing racial tensions for the killing.
“This happened in a province where racial tension in the rural farming community is increasingly being fuelled by irresponsible racist utterances” by two members of the governing African National Congress, said the Democratic Alliance legislator for that constituency, Juanita Terblanche.
Terblanche, no relative of the far-right leader, said her party did not share his political convictions but warned that the attack on him could be seen as an attack on the diverse components of South Africa’s democracy.
The killing comes 10 weeks before South Africa prepares to host the first World Cup soccer tournament on African soil, with massive expenditures on infrastructure being questioned as hundreds of thousands of tickets and hotel rooms remain unsold.
The South African Press Association quoted police spokeswoman Adele Myburgh as saying that Terreblanche was attacked by a 21-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy who worked for him on his farm outside Ventersdorp, about 110 kilometres northwest of Johannesburg.
Myburgh said the alleged attackers have been arrested and charged with murder. She said the two, whom she did not identify by name, told the police they were not paid for work they had done on the farm.
“Mr. Terreblanche’s body was found on the bed with facial and head injuries.” She said a machete was found on his body and a knobkerrie — a wooden staff with a rounded head — next to his bed.
Terreblanche had threatened war on South Africa’s white minority government in the 1980s when it began to make what he considered dangerous concessions to blacks that endangered the survival of South Africa’s white race.
A symbol of white resistance to democratic black majority rule, he had lived in relative obscurity in recent years but had not changed his views.
He revived the AWB in 2008 and had rallies that drew growing crowds whom he wooed with his declaration that white South Africans are entitled to create their own country, a fight he declared he would take to the International Court at The Hague.
An AWB member who said his name was Commandant Pieter Steyn noted the aptness of Terreblanche’s name, which in French translates to “white land.” Steyn said the name is a common name among South African descendants of Dutch Huguenot settlers, and that Terreblanche was born with the name.
Steyn wore a khaki uniform which read “100 (per cent) Boer.” The uniform also had a patch of South Africa’s apartheid-era flag.
Terreblanche launched his political career in 1973 amid growing opposition to the white minority government and its racist policies, forming the AWB with six other “patriots” of the Afrikaans-speaking whites descended from Dutch immigrants. The group wanted to create three all-white republics within South Africa in which blacks would be allowed only as guest workers.
The AWB was a semisecret organization for years. When it “came out” in 1979, the movement displayed Nazi-like insignia and declared opposition to any parliamentary democracy.
Terreblanche would arrive at meetings on horseback flanked by masked bodyguards dressed in khaki or black and became a charismatic leader for a small minority that could not envision a South Africa under the democratic rule of a black majority.
In 1983, Terreblanche was sentenced to a two-year suspended jail sentence for illegal arms possession, though he said the arms were planted by black opponents. The same year, two AWB militants were jailed for 15 years for conspiring to overthrow the government and assassinate black leaders.
Terreblanche finally was jailed in 1997, sentenced to six years for the attempted murder of a black security guard and assaulting a black gas station worker.
He became a born-again Christian in prison, and declared on his release in 2004 that his experience had convinced him that “the real hour to revive the resistance had arrived.”
Terreblanche threatened to take the country by force if the white government capitulated to the ANC. After the white government conceded, the ANC overwhelmingly won 1994 elections and has won every election since with more than 60 per cent of votes.

I "apologise" for being white

'To the Previously Disadvantaged'
We are sorry that our ancestors were intelligent, advanced and
daring enough to explore the wild oceans to discover new countries
and develop them.
We are sorry that those who came before us took you out of the
bush and taught you that there was more to life than beating drums,
killing each other and chasing animals with sticks and stones.
We are sorry that they planned, funded and developed roads,
towns, mines, factories, airports and harbours, all of which you now
claim to be your long deprived inheritance giving you every right to
change and rename these at your discretion.
We are sorry that our parents taught us the value of small but
strong families, to not breed like rabbits and end up as underfed,
diseased, illiterate shack dwellers living in poverty.
We are sorry that when the evil apartheid government provided
you with schools, you decided they'd look better without windows
or in piles of ashes.
We happily gave up those bad days of getting spanked in our all
white Schools for doing something wrong, and much prefer these
days of freedom where problems can be resolved with knives and guns.
We are sorry that it is hard to shake off the bitterness of the
past when you keep on raping, torturing and killing our friends and
family members, and then hide behind the fence of 'human rights'
with smiles on your faces.
We are sorry that we do not trust the government... We have no
reason to be so suspicious because none of these poor "hard working
intellectuals" have ever been involved in any form of "corruption or
irregularities".
We are sorry that we do not trust the police force and, even
though they have openly admitted that they have lost the war against crime
and criminals, we should not be negative and just ignore their
corruption and carry on hoping for the best.
We are sorry that it is more important to you to have players of
colour in our national teams than winning games and promoting
patriotism.
We know that sponsorship doesn't depend on a team's success.
We are sorry that our border posts have been flung open and now
left you competing for jobs against illegal immigrants from our
beautiful neighbouring countries.
All of them, countries that have grown into economic powerhouses
after kicking out the 'settlers'.?
We are sorry that we don't believe in witchcraft, beet root and
garlic cures, urinating on street corners, virginity testing, slaughtering
of bulls in our back yards, trading women for cattle and other
barbaric practices.
Maybe we just grew up differently.
We are sorry that your medical care, water supplies, roads,
railways and electricity supplies are going down the toilet because
skilled people who could have planned for and resolved these issues
had to be thrown away because they were of the wrong ethnic
background and now have to work in foreign countries where their
skills are highly appreciated.
We are so sorry that we'd like this country to fulfil its potential so
we can once again be proud South Africans.

AnnaG - why the hell not - let us apologise for everything.

I am a South African with ancestral roots from the UK (my forefathers landed here about 200 years ago) . You guys need to know a bit about SA's history to understand that it is as much ours as the blacks. There were no blacks living in the Cape when the Dutch settled; the people that the Dutch met there were called Hottentots, Strandlopers and a few Bushman, but they were wiped out mainly through contracting diseases that they had no natural immunity to.
If you see a map of South Africa the first blacks (Xhosa's) that the settlers encountered were living near the Kei River. They had been driven there by the constant warring between them and the Zulu's. Our black population originally came from up north as a result of tribal warfare. So in fact the true indigenous peoples of Southern Africa are the Bushman who are virtually extinct. The only reason why they still exist is because the whites allowed them to live as they have lived for thousands of years and they are happy to do that. The blacks on the other hand hate the Bushman and would have wiped them out years ago (see the following link - Botswana continues to violate Bushman?s rights - The Botswana Gazette and also Google it).
What I am saying is that I have as much right to live here as the blacks do. We have a nation of approximately 50 million citizens and about 10 million illegals (some say more) from the rest of Africa. Of the 50 million citizens, 45 million are black, about 3,5 million whites and the rest coloured or of Asian decent. We have 5 million registered taxpayers. Of the 3 million whites (including children) more than half are registered taxpayers. More than 75% of all tax collected comes from whites. So if you do the math, you realise that we support the majority of the nation.
I love my country and would prefer to try to save it (by any means possible) before I have to become a burden to another country.

Anyway as to imposing Christianity, I absolutely agree with you. We should have left the blacks to continue with their barbaric practises.

Read the following report on muti practises:

South Africa: Breakthrough in Body Parts Trade Investigation

Date Posted: Saturday 03-Apr-2010Witchdoctors are paying as little as R10 000 for a body brought to them to use in the concoction of muti.
Discovering the price for the illicit trade in bodyparts has been a major breakthrough into the study of the clandestine practice.
The information emerged during the second leg of research into trafficking of body parts, undertaken by Mozambique's Human Rights League, supported by Childline in South Africa.
League project manager Simon Fellows said this week that the project was providing the most comprehensive study into the trafficking of body parts, with even more dramatic revelations expected in the months to come.
The information about the price of the body part was received by the sister-in-law of a victim in KZN. The person who was responsible brought the sister-in-law to a shack, where it appears that the mutilation took place.
"You just get the R10 000 for coming with a person, the muti killer reported," said Fellows.
"The accused confessed to the family after the family found the body early last year," said Fellows.
The sister-in-law reported that the person's eyes, nipples, clitoris and tongue had been cut off.
But Fellows said the revelation was just the tip of the iceberg. In the first report, researchers received 31 people with first-hand accounts of trafficking for body parts. The first project only looked at areas in Mpumalanga, Limpopo and Free State. The new project looks at the entire country.
"We have only just started the next part of the project and already we have 42 first-hand accounts," said Fellows.
And their initial finding was that KwaZulu-Natal was turning out to be a trafficking hotbed.
Earlier this year, the Saturday Star reported that one in five people in South Africa's rural areas had had first-hand experience of a human body part being trafficked after a muti killing.
According to Human Rights League's research, of the body parts mentioned in their accounts male genitals, breasts, hearts, fingers and tongues were the most commonly listed.
Of the more than 413 individuals who attended workshops for the research report, 22 percent of those who were willing to be interviewed had seen a mutilated body with parts missing or a body part separated from a body.
There were 72 accounts relating to the trafficking of body parts mentioned in the report. Of these, 27 were from South Africa.
Between the two countries, 19 different body parts were mentioned as missing from bodies. They included heads, female genital organs, breasts, tongues, ears, eyes, hands, legs, lungs, guts, skin, arms, jaws, lips and fingers.
What remained challenging, though, said Fellows, was establishing where body parts were trafficked to.
"Based on the accounts we received, there is internal trafficking and cross-border trafficking, but it is difficult to establish where the body parts are going. There is talk in SA that witchdoctors come in from outside."
There is one case that the league had had some success in - in Mozambique, where a 10-year-old was mutilated. Two men were arrested. They made full confessions but later retracted them.
What was evident from the men was that the body parts were taken from Mozambique to supply a Mozambican witchdoctor operating in South Africa. Fellows said the veil of secrecy that shrouded the industry was because muti killings were still perceived as a taboo subject.
"We have not been able to find any arrested people who are willing to talk about why its done and where its taken and who its for."
Research has shown that a supply of body parts is coming from Mozambique. "It could be that security at SA's outgoing borders are more stringent," said Fellows.

As for bigotry, and I am sure you are not a bigot at all, the blacks here are the biggest bigots of all. Many insist on wanting to practice their culture and rituals, wearing animal skins, selling their daughters for cattle, testing young girls for virginity, going to witchdoctors, Xhosa tribesmen going for initiation during their teenage years where they are circumcised and made to eat their foreskins (Male Circumcision in South Africa) , slaughtering cattle and goats in their backyards, etc etc etc but then they wear Armani suits, drive Mercs, BMW's etc, wear expensive watches, drink Johnnie Walker Blue Label and Krystal Champagne, etc etc etc.

I invite you to come for a visit. My girlfriend, who by the way is Canadian, is also here and it only took her a week (okay - she disagrees - she says it was less) to realise the complete savagery of the blacks. I want you to experience it first hand before you comment.
By the way the Soccer world cup is going to be held here and I hear the blacks are going to make a "killing" out of all the foreigners coming here. So get back to me in 10 weeks or so after the World cup starts.

Many Regards
PS - if you do come, please be extremely cautious about sampling the "indigenous" black men - they have the highest incidence of AIDS in the world. Please make sure he wears a condom.

You forgot the deliberate attempt of early European settlers to exterminate the indigenous South African population, then enslaving what was left of them, followed by disenfranchising anyone with indigenous or non-European ancestry. This was all done, of course, in the name of Christianity and civilizing the native population.

The history of South Africa since about 1600 is one of continual aggression by first one group of Europeans and then another, eventually culminating in the various white governments that held power for most of the 20th century and made damned sure that anyone who wasn't white got as small a share of South Africa's wealth as possible.

Sounds fimiliar - the only mistake we made here was that we did not wipe out our entire black population as we thought we could live side by side with them - not like the Canadians/ Americans/ Australians/ South Americans. An American once told me that the difference between a settler moving west in the old America and a Voortrekker (an Afrikaner settler) was that the Americans carried their rifles in front with them on the wagons and their bibles in their trunks in the back, whereas we carried our bibles in front and our rifles in the back.

Superb post, and quite revealing of the way your mind works I suspect. Nothing like justifying one genocide by pointing to another.

It's with great pity that I realise that you do not know what the phrase "being facetious" means. And this begins to make me wonder if previous regime's premise that we were considered to have received the best education in the world, is in fact true.

Have a wonderful day.

Dear Bar Sinister

My dictionary's interpretation of genocide obviously appears to be incorrect. I get the following definition - "the deliberate and systematic extermination of a national, racial, political, or cultural group".
Please let me know what your dictionary's version says.
At no stage during South Africa's entire history was my definition practised on any of the different groups. EXCEPT - now on the whites since 1994, a low-level war is fought against us where we have been systematically and deliberately exterminated.
Nothing to noticeble and each murder is attributed to an alleged criminal act.
I just wish I could accurately quote you the statistics on the exact number of whites that have been murdered since 1994, but our government won't release them as they fear a mass exodus, and this does not suit them at the moment as no foreign handouts and investments would be forthcoming. Businesses would shut down and mass starvation occur.
If genocide was taking place during the Apartheid era, would there not be ample literature about it? The only known multiple killing involving large numbers occurred in 1960 during the Sharpeville riots and the total dead was 69. It is also the only day that has been made a public holiday by the ANC government to commemorate the day. If others had occurred then why are those events not commemorated.

Our late ANC Minister of Health, Manto Tshabala Msimang, during her reign of about 4 years killed over 300 000 black people by denying them anti-retroviral drugs. Was this ever reported in the news over there. Why don't you get upset with that heinous crime? I know the reason for this because I have heard the answer over and over again from Western foreigners. It's because it's black on black and that is how they manage their affairs. Do you realise that there is far more racism amongst black tribes than generally admitted. Mandela is a Xhosa, so is Mbeki and while they were in power, their tribes received far more than any of the others. Now that Zuma is in power, he is transferring the majority of the aid to the Zulus. Ask any Zulu if he respects any of the other tribes and he will tell you that they are all way beneath him.

If a white kills a black, then as far as the liberal west is concerned, it must be because of racism and could not possibly be that the black was actually the racist and intent on stealing from and killing as many whites as possible.
Do you guys/ dolls that side ever hear how when a group of blacks invade our homes that they not only steal (which we have learned to accept and deal with), but then afterwards either/ or murder the men and rape everyone else; and I mean everyone - not just the women. If you wish I can send you some wonderful pics of 3 day old, week old, 7 week old, 3 month old babies, a 104 year old women and countless old ladies that have been raped, tortured, murdered etc.

My point is this: All I want is to be able live in peace and have the right to determine my own future and have the right to own my own business which I have worked hard for and not have a black come in and want half of it (or all of it), when he has not put in any effort.
Africa courses through my veins, I love the sunrises and the sunsets (the most beautiful in the world in the bushveld and on our amazing beaches) and we really do have the most beautiful country in the world. And because of this I will die to protect this before I see it go down the toilet like the rest of Africa.
