Specifically, it's Andy Sullivan, the founder of the 9/11 Hard Hat Pledge (a pledge that construction workers take to not work on the Park51 Islamic center near ground zero) and some supporters of Sullivan. Here's what Sullivan says about Bieber:

Justin Bieber, who Sullivan claims gave the go-ahead to Park 51 in an interview with Tiger Beat magazine. Sullivan said regardless of Bieber's not-so-advanced age, his children will no longer attend Bieber's concerts.
"Are my two kids going to derail the Bieber machine?" asked Sullivan. "I don't think so. But it hurts. He said something that clearly hurt my kids, and hurt me. So, if you're gonna say statements that hurt, be prepared. There's gonna be fallout."

Of course, the Bieber thing is a prank that Sullivan fell for. ( The guy who made up the story of Bieber supporting Park51 says, "the fact that some people take it seriously is hilariously depressing." ) But it's still pretty funny.

Justin's career will not be ruined, although It is not a choice of music I would listen to my
little granddaughters think he is wonderful. The issue of 9/11 will be with us for a few decades
yet but not forever. Pearl Harbour is finally being put behind us and in other countries Vietnam
is moving on.
I think putting a Mosque in this location in and of itself becomes an inflammatory issue, as several
people are angered and yet it is there right to do so. The problem with going ahead means the
communities will be divided for a lot longer than anyone intended. Muslims in America did not
attack their country, people came from elsewhere to commit the attack.
There are in my opinion enough voices of hate to last a lifetime and only death will silence those
who hate. I for one, disagree with a lot of people in society and indeed a number on this forum
at times, but I do respect their view and remind myself that we live in a democracy where we can
state our opinion. I are the measure of who we are, and what we say and do and there is at times
a difference between word and deed.
The Muslims are very dogmatic and rigid in their belief system, but ask yourself are the any worse
than the Evangelical Christians who are dogmatic and rigid in their belief system? Are they any
worse than the very Conservative wing of the Jewish community? I am not saying all over the
world, I am talking about North America. We see radicals in all faiths and people threatening to do
a lot of things, but what actually happens? We have demonstrations and Jewish Centers attacked
on occasion, we have ultra nut cases shooting abortion Doctors in the Name of Jesus and the
Christian Community, and we have some Muslims who do plot against the State.
How is it that in most cases these radical Muslims get caught before they commit their crimes?
Usually because someone informed authorities of a pending problem.
I think we all should take a step back and ask ourselves, what kind of community do we want for
ourselves and our children? Our actions today will determine the future events that are yet to be
played out. I think all these diverse belief systems have a lot of work to do to defuse the hatred
that they have collectively created and in so doing have pitted many of continents citizens against
one another for political reasons of expediency without regard for the future of our countries.
