So with all the Earthquakes 6.1, 4.5, 4.1, 7.8 should Vancouverites be concerned??

Vancouverites should be concerned that there is a hockey playoff going on.

That's where the immediate danger lies.

what's the point in being concerned...life happens...be prepared for what you can and forget the rest

I would want to map out the quickest path to higher ground at any rate just because of the body of water it is at. I do that because of a dam upstream.

My St Helen blew so perhaps that is far north as it goes. BC is sediments rammed together by that rift and not. Over time the land should get pushed up so the water between the Island and Mainland would eventually disappear. That is is if rifts always spread and rise but never spread and sink towards the core.

There are enough boreholes in NA that a temp sensor could probably track the magma as it travels under the crust right to where it sinks.

All is well managed and controlled. North American fracking released most of the dangerous pressure. The catastrophy clock has been set back about 100 years.

Every few years those that make a living off of fear predict the BIG one is going to hit the coast. Keeps the tax money rolling into useless projects. There have been staff dedicated to managing this since the fifties.I saw the plan our Regional District has. Zero chance of it working since it depends on our fire halls, most of which are not quake proof becoming disaster centers. They also somehow think firetrucks are magically going to navigate the downed power lines and collapsed bridges to rescue people.

A megathrust quake is like sending your city to the land chiropractor. Helps break the congestion and limber up the suburbs. Embrace it.

But come on , they have all those great disaster response routes all mapped out .

hopefully Vancouver's destruction won't happen until supernatural, arrow, and flash are cancelled. ;)

Yeah, Ditto..

A good producer should be able to work it into the script.

Well they tried to wipe Vancouver off the map with a Tsunami 2 weeks ago.. but the Flash went back in time and changed history..

So Vancouver was saved.. :)

Wanna bet?
There have been Tsumanis in the past that slammed the Outside of the Island there's evidence in the archaeological record-no such evidence exists here on the Inside-it can't happen.

Of course I expect waspish know nothings to argue the point especially if they've never seen the place or been on the ocean.

The archeological record? Shards of pottery and fish baskets washed far inland?

Why would a tsunami only come from west of the island?
