I agree. Fighter jets are pretty impressive. When I was a Marine I was on an aircraft carrier and the F-14s would put on a demo and do the same thing.

One moment you are waiting for the show to start the next moment the Tomcat goes by w/o a sound... followed by a BOOM!

Pure power.

I've always wanted my own island, I'll give you guys $100 for it and anyone can always stop by and say hello! I guarantee the beer will always be cold :D

I'm in!

Whenever the Canadians come in we can throw up the "Welcome Canada" sign and when the Danes come in we can throw up the "Welcome Denmark" sign.

I said that I should take it from them, others suggested that the government should decide in this manner. The land is mine, but I'll take the 100, and some beer too :angel4:

Northwest Passage is Canadian territory, Graham warns U.S.

Mike Blanchfield
CanWest News Service

Tuesday, August 02, 2005

Ottawa After sparking a diplomatic row with Denmark over his impromptu visit to remote Hans Island, Defence Minister Bill Graham bluntly told the United States on Sunday to keep its hands off another disputed Arctic territory: the Northwest Passage. "We actually have a dispute with the United States," Mr. Graham told CTV's Question Period. "And our view is that's the internal waters of Canada given the layout of the Continental Shelf and our historic exercise of sovereignty over that area." Mr. Graham's unannounced visit of Hans Island a little more than a week ago sparked anger in Denmark. Both countries have been embroiled in a border dispute for decades over the island a barren outcrop of rock less than a kilometre wide between Greenland and Canada's Ellesmere Island. Danish government officials have suggested Mr. Graham's visit to Hans Island had less to do with concern over that island than it did with ongoing U.S. claims of sovereignty over the Northwest Passage. Mr. Graham made clear it would be in the interest of the international community if it remained under Canadian sovereignty. "This clearly will be an important passageway once it becomes feasible," Mr. Graham said, noting it will cut time off the trip from Europe to Asia.
