So Trudeau is a crook?

The first gender balanced cabinet was his talking point for a long while .

It's strange that every single voter in the country with two functioning brain cells didn't pick up on that. That's probably what led to the old adage that "Voters get what they deserve". :)

That's all very touching - but the people who are going to get screwed are the people who work for the corporation.

That's what its all about.

That is what Trudeau was trying his best to avoid
The Apr/13 ban would have been determined even before the investigation too place. They were done on the international scene, the only thing left was projects in Canada. The WB decision should have killed that possibility without any trial or charges being laid in Canada. The best would have been a fine, same one the plea-bargain would have netted. Now the 'cluster-fuk' caused by the newbie will see the company dismantled which is what the WB wanted. They have their own preferred companies that could then bid in contracts in Canada because no 'local company' has the skills to take on projects like diamond mines and military bases. The same Canadian grunts will do the heavy lifting and the profits go to the WB just like they did with the first diamond mine.

Timeline: Key dates for SNC-Lavalin

April 2013 – The World Bank bans an SNC subsidiary from bidding on World Bank projects for 10 years because of alleged misconduct in projects in Bangladesh and Cambodia. It was the longest bidding ban on World Bank Group-financed projects in the global agency’s history and applies to SNC-Lavalin Inc. and more than 100 affiliates.

May 2011 – Swiss authorities begin investigating Riadh Ben Aissa, a vice-president at SNC, on suspicion of corruption, fraud and money-laundering in North Africa.

The married voters too :). Most likely plenty did, and lots approved.

"The voters get what they deserve." -? There's truth in that but it should really be stated "Everybody gets whoever the biggest number voted for." What they all get - as opposed to what the majority thought they voted for - may be something else. What any individual 'deserves' is something else again.

We can't assume that someone interested in the SNC-L affair wouldn't be concerned about job losses in the oil industry. It's also true that some of the issues in both cases are quite complex and basically different.
As for the ex-AG's appointment, her competence and her ethnicity/gender are not conflicting qualifications. I see no basis for implying that she was chosen on the sole basis of any one set of criteria.
About a decade ago, I was involved in supplying some fixturing for a big SNC Lavalin facility in Ft. McMurray.

It's all interconnected and there is no "us and them".

Something seems to be not working properly with the quote & reply system, at least on my computer. Responses are attached to quoted posts, to which they bear no relationship.

Recently someone took issue with my use of the word "crook" and possibly had a good point. On second thought if you are supporting a crook that is tantamount to being a crook! :)

Let's play a drinking game. Every time Groper says "uh" or "um", take a drink. I bet we'll all be half in the bag within 60 seconds.

Oh f*ck off already you partisan shit pump. Butts' policies in Ontario have f*cked this province pretty good. Lots of jobs were lost because of him. The LIberals as a whole have helped kill off around 100,000 jobs in the oil and gas sector.

But suddenly, SUDDENLY I'm expected to believe that the attempt at obstruction of justice is because the Liberals are sooooo concerned about jobs. And the sad fact is here you are pushing their bullshit like you actually care about the employees of SNC-Lavalin.
You see, you don't get to break the law and then get a deal cut for you just because a DPA was slid into an omnibus budget bill AFTER you got busted.

Tell us, what laws were broken in the oil patch? What laws were broken in Ontario? None. And yet not one bit of concern about the job losses in those places.

You've got to be the goddam stupidest person outside of Quebec if you actually believe this is about jobs. Is it really the jobs or is it because the Quebec pension fund has a 20% stake in SNC-Lavalin? I'll bet dollars to donuts it's the latter.

I wouldn't waste toilet paper on it, Bill - let alone kleenex. He will not admit any culpability in the SNC scandal so it will be yet another example of his drama teacher theatrics which wouldn't even be nominated for an Academy award let alone win the trust of Canadians.

Great photo.

Why would a Liberal cry over the Conservatives not being able to find any criminal wrongdoing at all, let alone having the balls to charge them and pay a huge fine in them? 14 years of looking the other way is not the platform that will win the Conservatives any seats in the coming election.

No wonder that point is never mentioned, let alone that the AG tanked her own career by insisting on a trial that would not have increased the fines.

That’s why he’s done jack for the patch.

$4.5 billion for a pipeline no private investor would touch

This is nothing to you

One wonders what dollar amount would constitute something
