Tryin to think,,what's worse. Trying to converse with a loud mouth slobberin drunken sot, or a red eyed numb head who loses track of what he was saying in mid sentence. lol. It' good. It's ALL good/

.
neither is worse. Both are annoying.
Those who seek obliteration will choose any means. Its' a red flag. A call for help.
There is great conversation and good times to be had with those who imbibe in moderation. Nothing of worth comes from getting bombed on any substance.
I hadn't tried that stuff for years then the other day had some before a band practice. Half of my brain cells died that night. I couldn't think straight if my life depended on it.
Clearly a strong strain or the wrong strain. Not everything works in every situation. If I have alot of manual work to do and I'd like nothing better then to go to bed. A couple of hoots will give me the energy to complete the work and make it enjoyable.
For me there's no having a couple of hoots and watching a movie, or reading a book, no eating, or falling a sleep.
I can't take it even with food. Synthetic opiates are nasty. Good ol morphine in low doseages complimented by low dose cannabis works extremely well for my MS neuropathy. Synthetics and cannabis don't have the same prophylaxis nor do either on their own in higher doses. It has taken several years of trial and error to find the right opiate dosages and the right cannabis cultivar.
I read an article recently by Dr. Carl Hart who expressed the need to be aware of the positive effects of whatever drug/medicine/recreational drug you are doing. And to be aware of the negative so you can choose what is effective.
I think alot of people just run headlong into stuff without really thinking about, considering, or evaluating the effects wanted, effects needed and putting aside those that simply are not offering what is needed.
Sounds like you've got a handle of all of that. I think more people need to make awareness the prioirity. Not just medicating or running away from the "issue" be it physical, emotional pain management, suppression of negative symptoms or positive enforcement.
