Why has it become so virtuous to claim you got your butt tweaked 40 years ago?

Is this now the face of strong, independent, powerful women??

She dropped the charges after her life was threatened. I think you are on the wrong side of this fence, Hoofy.

Regardless of the political outcomes the pressure on Moore and Trump has been turned up and that's a good thing.

I am dying to see if the #metoo gets Trump or not. Everyone is talking #russiancollusion but maybe the real killer will be this weird movement that says woman should not be abused by men

Franken resigns so should Trump & Moore as social standards should never be a one way street. We should know soon when the actual resignation date will be.

Franken is going down with both guns blazing against Trump and Moore...because he is too cowardly to defend himself against specious allegations from politically motivated women. He won't dare butt heads with the Sacred Cow of questioning a so-called 'victim' no matter how outrageous or defamatory the accusations.

That's what you get though...a career in tatters...and it's payback from drinking the Lefty Kool-Aid all of those years.

Al Franken denied the accusations against him, so I guess all the Roy Moore defenders will come to his defense now. Nothing's been proven, right? It's a political conspiracy just like Roy Moore, right?

the whole reason Franklin had to resign was to put the republicans into this ethical corner

but surprise surprise ethics do not matter to the GOP - they need a tax cut for the their donors and nothing can get in the way of that,

Morality to the Republican party is nothing but a rhetorical tactic they use to keep themselves in power. But their voters are starting to prove that it doesn't matter. All that effort to woo evangelical moralists and it turned out the evangelicals were just as phony as the politicians all along. Maybe they'll drop the pretense in the next election.

You all know me as a Quasi-Righty on this forum...

And I still don't believe Franken should resign. You're allowed to be a bit of a jerk throughout your long life...along the path to maturity...etc. We all wish we had a 'take back' button we could press and magically make the lousy things we did in the past go away.

I hope he reconsiders and sticks around.

I would agree if it wasn't for 1 er 2 little things, he apologized not once, but twice

But he hasn’t resigned yet.
oh it's one of those things like where's the indictment.

the explanation here - in case you really are as thick as you let on - is that Franklin will leave the senate at the christmas break, giving his appointed replacement some time to familiarize themselves with his work.

hope this somehow prevents 2 weeks of "where's his resignation?"
