Russell Brand is not a fan of mass media. He is very much about thinking for yourself. He's a comedian by trade.

I like Russell Brand. I like that he comments and offers a different perspective.

There's someone who still has some question about whether RB is an idiot?

Yes, I don't believe him to be an idiot. He is quite intelligent. Disagreeing with him doesn't automatically make him an idiot.

like I said, there may be some points in there, I simply can`t get past how he presents.

No worries. I'm ok with people not liking him or his style. There have been shows he's done that I didn't like the format of. I liked his radio podcast but I didn't like Brand X

Here's the video so you can avoid clicking on the useless article..

Lol

Well I guess I can get on board with the idea of waiting to get all the right info before yelling terrorist. I also agree with the comparison to Moncton where we did not call that incident terrorism even though the public's initial reaction after both incidents were relatively similar.

Where I might differ in opinion is the way he frames the intensity of the ideological argument.

I think people, and the mainstream media, are a little bit smarter now.

We won't fall for islamaphobia as much as we did before because Iraq taught us that lesson quite clearly. The other point is that there is enough healthy debate about civil liberties that I think we will not be put in some severely restricted situation when it comes to rights or privacy.

"Indeed, it is tragic when events in Canada make headlines around the world. It’s worse when shallow celebrities use them to put the spotlight on themselves."

also if I may, some shallow forum celebrities ;-)

He's Left Winger - and most Left Wingers are lowlifes, with no sense of decency, dignity, manners, and what is right and wrong.

Last year he went on Newsnight calling for a revolution (in Britain, a relatively stable country which has never seemed keen on revolution throughout its history). Needless to say, the revolution still hasn't happened.

Paxman vs Brand - full interview - BBC News - YouTube

He was on Newsnight (which no longer has Paxman as its host) again just last week mouthing off about something.

And back in 2008, Brand and TV talk show host Jonathan Ross got into hot water over the "Sachsgate" affair when, during The Russell Brand Show on BBC Radio 2, the pair left a series of obscene messages on the answering machine of actor Andrew Sachs, who is famous for playing Manuel in Fawlty Towers and, more recently, Ramsay Clegg in Coronation Street. On the episode, Brand and Ross called Sachs as a guest to interview on-air; when Sachs failed to answer the telephone, they are heard leaving a series of lewd messages on his answering machine, including comments about Brand's relationship with Sachs's granddaughter, Georgina Baillie—at the time a performer with the group Satanic ****s.

The Lefty Luvvies love Brand, though. The Left Wing Bible, The New Statesman magazine, begged him to be its guest editor.

I think his popularity belies your statement.

The only people who like Russell Brand are a few Lefty Luvvies at the BBC, The Graunaid, The New Statesman, Islington dinner parties and LibDem conferences. Most ordinary people, however, detest his Left Wing, anarchist politics; his disgusting behaviour in the Sachsgate scandal; and just being a complete and utter Left Wing prat. Many people on here will probably love him.
