British children's author and WWII RAF veteran Roald Dahl (1916-1990), famous for many great childhood memories such as "The Twits", "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", "James and the Giant Peach", "Matilda" and "The BFG", probably the world's greatest ever children's writer, is yet another of our greats who's been vandalised by the woke Left Stasi...

Ah, some people are so stupid. I loved Roald Dahl, we got him as bedtime stories when I was a wee lad, and so did our children, and so are their children getting him now. The "unfixed" versions. This has been going on since forever though. I recall the official editions of Shakespeare we studied in English in secondary school were sometimes heavily redacted, presumably on the assumption that teenagers shouldn't know anything about human sexuality. LIke that'll work. Hamlet in particular had an angry scene between Hamlet and his mother that's crucial to the plot development and understanding Hamlet's outrage and grief completely removed, but the teacher we had was well adjusted, recognized that, brought in an unbowdlerized edition and read the scene to us. There's often a ferment about J.D. Salinger's famous Catcher in the Rye novel as well, for similar reasons, Mark Twain sometimes gets "fixed" for his use of the feared N-word, Kurt Vonnegut had some books banned in high schools, and not long ago there was an attempt here to remove the Harry Potter books from school libraries because of the biblical injunction "Though shalt not suffer a witch to live."

There are a lot of books here at Chateau Sinister, some of them probably not really suitable for children, but we always told our children they can read anything they want here, we made no attempt to censor anything, just said that if anything baffles or troubles you come and talk to us about it. And they did. And still do. Our children, now well into their 30s, still like us.

I'm all for giving social engineers lead therapy.

I've despised them ever since I became aware of their existence.

Shit, I still sing the first version of O Canada I learned, back when we flew the Red Ensign.

Look what they've done to Milne. Nothing "correct" going on here.
