''I particularly agree that the Muslim communities in Canada and America are doing little to overcome radicalization of their type.''

Watch the Zogby interview shows and you see the precise opposite.

What a wonderful topic we have here. Muslims are not Americans even though they came to
America's shores, were accepted and received citizenship. Muslim or Islam is a religion not a
nationality. So for one America is prepared to discriminate against these people while often
claiming Christians are denied their rights in the society.
Yes up until the 9/11 attack it was the white skinhead neo Nazi groups that caused the trouble.

The worst problem is that the young are vulnerable because of economics rather than religion.
Americans don't want to hire them and in a society of high unemployment they can't get work.
There is an old saying our grandmothers used to use, Idle hands are the devil's work.
The land of opportunity is no long just that. We have the voices of hate working hard here and
unfortunately those voices bring back the McCarthy era. This representative is pandering
to the ignorant and the lowest common denominator. At the center of that is the fringe of the
Republican party and the unstable uneducated Movement the Tea Party.
The more this kind of action is front page the less likely it is the country will ever return to the
vision of hope and promise they started with. The only souls saved will be those protected on
Wall Street. America is becoming a shadow of its former self. Regardless of whether you are
on the right or left it is sad to see any country descend into ignorance and fear as its core
belief system.

Imo there is no credible evidence that America has discriminated against American Muslims. However, I am not infallible. Thus, I am willing to consider probative evidence if it can be presented.

Domestic dissent in form of militias, white supremacists and black supremacists are different. They are different from these "Muslims" of 9/11 who had external support and funding (to varying degrees) from the Taliban, Al-Queda, Saddam Hussein, the Sauds, and various Muslim organizations around the world.

Even today, we do have to question how largely unemployed Muslim communities in Britain, North America and Europe can find the millions and billions to build projects like "Mega Mosques" in our downtown communities!

In contrast, the black Panthers can't even afford a headquarters (nor to expand their memberbase) and most White Supremacists don't even have a presence in our world beyond the internet and prison gangs. It seems to me the biggest threat to our societies is not a few gun-totting black or white people but fifth column Muslim organizations with billions in finances connected to the Sauds, Arabs and everyone else who hates the progressivity of western civilization.

As hearings in the U.S. Congress on radical Islam and homegrown terrorism began in Washington, the effort of organized Muslim opposition to discredit them also gathered steam.
It is nearly a decade since 9/11 and there is too much accumulated evidence at hand to put to rest the self-serving insistence of most Muslims — but especially those in the West — that while Islam is peaceful, it has been hijacked by immoderate Muslims.
The reality is the malignancy of the Arab-Muslim world — as it sinks deeper into the morass of its own making, a broken civilization dotted with failed and rogue states and, perhaps, beyond repair — threatens the peace of others.
Inside the Arab-Muslim world, immoderate Islam is the norm. If this was not true, then immoderate Muslims, goaded by immoderate religious and political leaders, would not control the public square in most member states of the Organization of Islamic Conference, and in the name of Islam intimidate and kill their opponents.

Hey Gang, What Do You Think About This:

"...Take Abdul Rahman al-Amoudi, a former advisor to President Clinton and the State Department. Amoudi also ingratiated himself to then-Governor George W. Bush. In the months after the 9/11 attacks, Amoudi was one of the Muslim “moderates” championed by the administration. He spoke at the Washington National Cathedral honoring the victims. Three years later, Amoudi was arrested for conspiring to work with al-Qaeda and Moammar Gaddafi of Libya in an assassination attempt on the Saudi king.

There’s Omar Ahmad, founder of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the largest Muslim organization in the United States. CAIR was involved with the Holy Land Foundation, an operation that guised charity funds as subsidies to terrorist groups. And then there’s Nihad Awad, the co-founder of CAIR. Awad is an operative of Hamas and yet served on Vice President Gore’s commission for aviation safety and security — the irony! — and was invited to stand alongside President Bush after 9/11. Ismail Elbarasse worked with Amoudi and was involved with the Holy Land Foundation. He also conspired with Hamas leader Mousa Marzook and the “Virginia Network,” a cell of Pakistani terrorists.

In 2004, Elbarasse was arrested. Documents seized in his basement revealed the Muslim Brotherhood’s archives for the United States. CAIR is a front for the Muslim Brotherhood. The Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) is a front for the Muslim Brotherhood. The North American Islamic Trust (NAIT) is a front for the Muslim Brotherhood. The Muslim Students Association (MSA) is a front for the Muslim Brotherhood. Hamas is the Muslim Brotherhood. And the Muslim Brotherhood spawned Egyptian Islamic Jihad and subsequently al-Qaeda...."

Kevin Phillips wrote of much discrimination against American Muslims after 9/11 in his book American Theocracy.

Phillips is a conservative.

I also condemn anyone that attempts to blow up a bomb, either on their person or remotely; that makes an attempt to kill innocent people; that works to help others do those things. This is NOT how American settle their problems.

Correct, Americans would much rather sit in a bunker 200 miles away and send a drone or a missile to blow up innocent people. That's how Americans settle their problems.

Yep.

It's true - the extremists actually won this battle because they lit up the prejudices of the average American. All we had to do was continue on peacefully, but predictable warmongering has done nothing but cause internal fervor and waste resources.

Since at least approx. 2008 some American Somalia's have been training to fight in what we call terror cells both here and Africa.

Counter-Terrorism: American Terrorists In Somalia

As for some poor white folk, they have been fighting the government for years, but only occasionally actually act on what they would like to do. FBI has been investigating them for years also. There not as much of a threat as with Muslim terrorist groups who usually actually carry out their threats. Why their own communities don't take a stand if there against terror is the biggest dividing mechanism between them and other Americans and Canadians.

''Bill Maher is a leftist''

As we discussed numerous times before you joined this forum, Maher is NOT a leftist. Please get your facts straight.

All perspective is relative. You're entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to mine.

Why was the American Anwar al Awlaki able to reach the American Nidal Malik Hasan, M.D. and persuade him to murder his fellow Americans? This question just won't go away. It keeps on getting repeated.

''You're entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to mine.''

As our beloved senator from Gopherland Al Franken said, ''you're entitled to your opinion but not to your own set of facts''.

Maher has gone on record and has been quoted here enough times that he is libertarian - that makes him conservative.
